The way that Todd said it, it made it sound like it was a "joke" that Journey found a singer on the 'Tube.
I never thought "Journey" and "a joke" would ever be used in the same thought and/or sentence...y'know..?

I would think most reputable DJs who play classic Rock or A/C would know who Pineda is. Journey is in the top ten as far as airplay for classic rock and top 20 for Adult Contemporary. Just because the the stations don't really play the current album doesn't mean they wouldn't know who are in the current lineup.

Did you see Def Leppards tour gross with Poison and Cheap Trick???? How about REO, STYX and 38 Special??? Can Journey play stand alone and fill up a 7000 seat theater with a little known opening act no way, unless tickets are around $30. Arnels novelty is wearing off with a lot of people. With JSS or Kevin Chalfant I believe every fruit they enjoy today that you speak of would be there x 2. A few more live TV performances and the casual Journey fan will back off when they see arnie boy go into seizure on the stage, like the Super Bowl.

I had a depo and there were four attorneys there, and they were discussing the Super Bowl and how much they love Springsteen. I mentioned Journey was going to be in Orlando, and the attorney said he loved the new singer after watching him on SB. I asked him, you liked his performance, and he said he was a great singer and the other three attorneys concurred. I said some on my music blog said he was awful. They said, not at all, a great voice. So just like the group at my house that thought it was a fine (not great) performance I have a feeling most thought that.

And his Oprah appearance was great. And his performances in concert this whole year aren't a novelty. It's a talented man giving it his all up on stage, and the fans loved him this year. He had great reviews almost across the board from MR members, Europe and here, written up. In this climate as a 30 something year old band they are relevant and very successful.

Considering you take that performance, and then use it to make remarks trashing him all tour year when most on here said he was great at all these concerts, even some who still struggle with Journey, says something about you always needing to continually bash him at every turn these days.
