Must agree. And I think what really cool is all the pieces sounded more alive & sizzlin...especially the drums. Deen's snare actually sounds like a good snare and not some wet thumpy cardboard. Drums must be melodic & crispy.

Maybe it's all because the electricity is different over there. Running everything at 220+ must make the sound hotter.

The songs are freaking AWESOME quality, and if someone knows how I can get them... PLEASE send me a PM!!! On a side note, if you go to the website, there's a commercial for something on the right side. When the family turns and faces the other directions... doesn't it look like Cain, Schon, Pineda (MAN he's short! ), Deen and Ross?   Just SAYING!

This boot and the Atlantic City boot from Dean-O are definitely my 2 favorite. Great intensity....

This is a great recording of a great concert. This is the kind of show I would prefer from them every time -- get rid of a lot of the pop/fluff. This should be released!

Finally got to listen to the whole thing. Wow is right. Great crisp sound. The band really rocked this concert. Fantastic. Thanks, Chubbs.

The band sounds great, but I still can't get past Arnel's diction. It sounds as if he is attempting to sing with a wooden tongue depressor lodged in his mouth!

Particularly on live performances.

You have tin ears. It sounds fantastic. Why does someone always have to jump him for diction? It's really not that bad. I just listened to greatest hits live in the car today, then listened to this. Frankly, I wasn't as impressed with Perry on that I as I was with Arnel on the Manila DVD. Oh, well....different tastes. My wife and I both feel that SP was the best ever in his era but Arnel sometimes tops him with more power and not quite as nasally sounding. That's not taking anything away from Steve, as he WAS simply the best. On the other hand, what's he done for me lately? I have definitely been able to move on and appreciate Arnel.

Fantastic sound. IMO This is the best I've heard them in recent years. Great energy! I didn't notice an accent issue with Arnel and I'm usually really picky about that sort of thing. Nice post Chubby. 8)

Tip from Selfdual......

There is also a "Descargar" button below the "votos". Just right click it and "save link as" if you want to save the mp3 file. This is a part of podcasts by Radio 3 (RNE) so you can also get the podcast episode in itunes(search for "el vuelo del fénix") and the best thing is, its for free!:) I really love the sound quality of this recording! Enjoy!

Why not? Steve Perry co-wrote and sang on all their hits and he was bashed "seal" etc., just like you're bashing him, so why should Arnel be exempt? And, he had a right to retire if it was his choosing, especially if you are representative of the type of fans he had. I wish Steve Perry the best and he does not have to do anything "for me lately." Wish all the best.

Continue to enjoy!

Over diction issues? Do you hear them? I can see bashing the guy over sour notes, which you will not find, or over missing a cue, which there are maybe two, but diction? Now? Augeri had more diction issues than Arnel has now.
