After really spending some time listening to this track, I really do think it's strong. But I just wish JSS would have taken his vocals a bit higher near the end of the song. Obviously it may have been out of his range, but even some strain can add to the depth of a track when done right. I think it really could have made a difference with this song.

One of the first things I noticed about the song  - The whole guitar track is pretty much Schon by the numbers. Fuck, I played along with the song the first time I ever even heard it and I almost knew which note to fret next along with the track..

I agree. To me, the best song, and impressive that it's got over 4,000 views so soon upon release with this combination of musicians compared to his other music, like Beautiful Mess when it was released, etc. Good sign of the interest in this CD and this lineup.

My Everything, Brothers In Arms are skippers for me. And some of the songs start sounding the same to me, but overall most of the songs are really good with several great ones.

I'm a Pinhead, Matt.

The problem probably is JSS's voice on some songs, especially the rockers, sounds the same song to song without different shades of tone for me and maybe that's the problem with Brothers in Arms. But there's quiet a few I really like on here and that Jeff is great on, and some stunnng songs. I wouldn't call it a Masterpiece album, though, or a straight listen through for me.

Of course, most people don't like the music I listen to anyway.

I know whatcha mean there. I'm not a huge JSS fan in the sense that I don't own a lot of his CDs besides Lost In The Translation and Soul Sirkus, but I love WET. I know what you mean - sometimes I feel like he doesn't quite exploit his whole range with his voice. "One Day at a Time" is a great glimpse of everything he can do with his voice I think - I'd love to hear that full range more often.

This whole CD kicks ass. In fact, I'm listening to it right now. Great mixture of flow between songs and chorus. Just an awesome performance across the board.

I LOVE that song - by far my favorite Depeche Mode tune. Way up on my all-time most played list on iTunes... Not great live singing there though... haven't found a good live performance of that tune yet.

No, it's not his best vocals and he's usually spot on. I have never found a great video of that song either. There's some great vocals on this song on different venues for their tour in 2009, but not very good video up close, unfortunately. It is one of my favorites of theirs definitely. On the internet from this tour I guess there is a bootleg DVD being sold of the entire concert from Madison Square Garden.

JSS is the man...should actually still be the man. You guys know he rocks too hard for these Pinheads. And has way more soul. Great song. I would recommend picking this CD up instead of another Journey thing with arnie boy.

Electronic drums ? WTF ? I like the song too but the drum sound is very lacking IMHO.

yes, and the Who's Crying Now lick shortly after. Like I said, the entire solo is Neal by the numbers - and it's a well-done solo!

I slightly hear Steve Perry singing "If I fall". Well, if he was still singing. It is a beautiful song to be sure.

I agree with some of you that JSS' eclectic range is not exploited on this CD. I think, however, it depends on what the musicians including JSS want to give their audience. Perhaps they had a particular theme in mind for this CD and not so much diversity in his singing style, I don't know.

Whatever they wanted to bring to the table on this CD, I enjoy it's style. W.E.T. is slowly growing on me. :D MBPL

W.E.T. will be yet another casualty of Soto's inability to write, record, promote and then tour behind music. The album is good, but it seems that with each listen it becomes more and more of a Journey ripoff, whether it's Perry's phrasing, Neal's solos or the drumming and keys. Now I know why I initially loved the guitars so much.

lol, i don't think it rips off Journey too, too much. If I Fall definitely "pays homage," but hell, it's a great song...

It definitely borrows heavily from staple features of the genre though throughout, that's for sure... but it's the heavier/harder side of MR for the most part

What I do know is that the video for 'One Love' is an abomination. What is this, 1984? And stop all of the shoving of cameras up people's faces. Good God.
