Well I saw this on melodicrock.com album release date info page. If this has already been posted disregard, but thought it was interesting that Steve Perry is on there, but ironically it lists TBC. Make what you want of it. It also mentions Journey.

I'll let someone else tell you. ;)

That info has been there for awhile. I wonder when Drew made the last updates
to this list? With some interviews and things said by other artists, there was optimism
out there that 2010 would be the year but NO ONE has been able to supply any
concrete evidence that we will get anything new from Perry anytime soon...
Aside from Drew, the only folks on this board capable of doing that would be
Cyndi and Lora and, being close to Steve, they will never tell :) Unless Steve says it's
ok...

I wish someone WOULD give us a hint or some inside info, though...

I choose to believe not, then I won't ever be disappointed.

I do, however have the name of the new album:

It Ain't Happening

The Journey album will be out in 2011 now, according to Neal.

So~ would it be fair to call the 2010 Journey release..."It Ain't Happenin'?!?"

Or Another year, same crap.

But who cares, we're getting a new Journey album.

Edit: OK, maybe 2011, but we're still getting one. :D

wait...
didn't Neal say the Journey album would be out in 2010, but that the tour would be in 2011? I musta misheard that.

As for Perry- I've given up on him a long time ago. Tired of waiting. Tired of the bait that gets tossed out there.
If you watch Behind the Music from 2001 (NINE YEARS AGO FOLKS)- Perry was "thinking" about doing something then. It appears he's still mulling it over.

Yeah, he'll be back soon.

So they'll record it in April and sit it on it for six months.

Since I thought FTLOSM sucked, I don't feel all this frustration with Perry not releasing anything. Journey's Greatest Hits is at #95 this week, so technically Perry is still on the charts. I mostly just care about Journey with Perry and vice versa so I'm cool with that album being the one representing the group on the charts. I would prefer CAPTURED to be there instead as that defines my favorite version of Journey but beggers can't be choosers can they? (And as if on cue, Lights begins to play over the office radio)

I wouldn't say it sucked, but it sure wasn't a career milestone for him. The production was amazing, but dang, it was like Perry turned into Michael Bolton. It was a letdown for sure.

The opinion is one thing, what was the reason for splitting G~boys thoughts?!?!
Did you forget to comment on one of these parts?!?!? Is your brain split in two
and this is the only way you can communicate...?!?!?!?!?!? :? Brief explanation
will be fine...no reason to cut me in two.. :P

I liked FTLOSM, BTW!!! :D

It was a soundtrack for euthanasia. Perry's interpretation of Emo-Rock. About as far away from Street Talk as you could get.

And one of their few rocking songs on TBF and which has kind of a heavy vibe to it I like, but I feel this is Perry's worst vocal sound ever to me. I didn't care for his vocals on this song at all, upper range or lower range. Castles Burning.

Better? Mr. edit up there.

Yes, I agree Perry is technically still on the charts.

I would prefer Infinity myself.

FTLOSM; Missing you and I am. The rest is a snooze fest.

Edit: And I think GB is in charge of the Muzak in his office. :)

Sit on it...maybe, of sorts. If it's a true concept album, then they'll keep it in the producer's studio to play with it and tweak. Then they'll re-record parts and/or re-do parts with what or whomever, and then it'll still take a few more months for everyone to sign-off on it. Point is, recording doesn't mean squat. Producing, finishing, & polishing will take serious time. If we see it this year, I'll be surprised. 2011-ish, is more like it.

later~

Castles Burning was okay, but way too long. You can really hear how much trouble he was having on it.

Right back at ya chicklet! So do you. :) Besides when it comes to laying down some soulful R&B groove, he falls only a smidge below Perry IMO.
