West coast shit, not helpful.....hopefully it will expand a bit. I'm sure he'd draw well in Nashville, since every guitar player in town would probably go check it out if the LP & Neal's band had a good buzz going ahead of time.

After Journey gets done with their studio work in April or May, it will be interesting to see if Neal goes back out on the road in the summer. Maybe it depends on how well these shows go down.

He posted on his Facebook that this was all he had time for right now before Journey studio and that he'd look at more possible dates after the Journey recording.

NOW THATS AWESOME, I would love to see Neal live. Is this with his band? Or is it Neal by him self???

His band, from what I gathered. Like I said though, he said these dates were all he could promise right now and everything else would be dependent on what's going on after the Journey recording (and also probably the success of this leg of the tour I would assume)

thanks MATT...

ME thinks NEal alone in small intimate venue would be more entertaing and creative than him with another band.

Just my opinion.

I disagree Rick, I wanna see him with a band. Alone inevitably means acoustic. Neal can play great acoustic (see: Beyond the Thunder, several tracks), but he's an electric guitar player at heart! Definitely gotta have the band for full effect. He and his guitar will still be the focal pieces of any band show.

no way man... he could do electrical guitar to all the journey classics... and some voice material some I on U material... some
journey classic solos... his own solos... would be amazing... if I want to see Neal in a band... it should be with Journey or Santana...

I might try and catch him at the Filmore. It would be cool to check out his band. I'd also love to hear some of his Journey classic solos. That would be an awesome show.

Yeah but Rick, those instrumentals and stuff require backing music! Those instrumentals won't be good at all without the keyboard/drum backing. Think about it.

You know, that would be cool if he did. A lot of great guitarists do the web teaching, Nils Lofgren comes to mind. Easy cash and tons of influence can be had. As much as I hate and despise Schon, it would interest me as a guitar player. He could play melodic, acoustic, crunchy rock, hard rock, whatever. Never said dude wasn't talented.

I'd fuckin love it man. The guy inspired me to learn to play at least decent guitar when I had pretty much quit when I was in my early teens. I've really figured out a lot of what makes him tick and his stylistic tendencies over the years of trying to cop his stuff (not nearly as well, mind you), but there is still so much I could learn from watching him do something like this. It's a nice way to give back to all the musician fans who have supported him over the years. Hell, any ticket money they get from me has always been based solely on going to watch Neal play.

Dude, you should! Obviously, there is much fun already in the planning!

I thought I was OUT at first, because I wanted to use Delta miles and most Delta flights from here were almost $1,100, or about $750 if I didn't mind only staying a day and having 10+ hr. travel times + layovers. Then I saw Southwest was much cheaper and direct -- 3.5 hr. flight times. Here's what I did -- I canceled my Southwest flight to Chicago for MR Fest II and rebooked it on Delta using a minimum of miles, then used that Southwest ticket for Vegas and only had to pay a couple hundred $ more. So far, the trip is going to be extremely cheap for me. :)

I also got a 2nd row center seat for $40-something bucks. I won't stay in the 2nd row for long... haha.
