Neal rocks. My favorite guitarist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnrZKmIlRf0 Happy Birthday. :D

And Jonathan - Best body on a sixty-year-old man I've ever seen. You can handle another birthday.
Well, okay, Bruce Springsteen is sixty and they showed him on a beach. He's doing pretty good in that department, too.

I love that video, Dancing in the Dark. Bruce was hot. I had the wrong video of Neal. I changed it.

Christ, why wouldn't you be in good shape if you were these guys? Even with boozing and food and the other pleasures of the road, they don't really have all that much stress in their lives and probably have a lotta free time. Yeah, it can be tough touring around, but shit, it's not like they need to come into "the office" on any given day.

Hey Fro! Have drink a or several, this weekend. If being sober means creating more drivel like some of those uninspired Revelation tracks (What It Takes To Win, Blech!), your ass needs to not just fall off the wagon but to kill the horses and burn that fucker up.

Dude, you have any idea of a concert day these guys go through? I can speak for both Bruce and Journey. On a concert day, Springsteen works an 8-10 hour day, but the day is 16 hours long. A good 2-3 hour sound check/rehearsal and a 3+ hour show..plus all the time at the arena between sound check and concert...plus 2 hour workouts = a long day.

As for Journey, I had the pleasure of hanging with them in Atlantic City once. They surprisingly took serious their sound check. I was impressed. They would get up on stage on time, and went through about 7-9 songs. They played rarities as well as some usuals. it was pretty cool to see how they get the sound right. They would bring in each instrument one by one until they all meshed and sounded good. After about an hour or so, Journey's sound check was over. They didn't spend as much time as Springsteen, but like I said, they took it seriously. After that, they had about 3 hours prior to show...they went and had dinner and all that shit. I would say they had a 6 hour workday. Granted, they don't have to wake up early in the morning. I saw Cain coming down for breakfast about noon....Now in Journey's case vs Springsteen, I imagine Journey has it a bit rougher. After their gigs, they take off on the bus for a nice 5+ hour ride, arriving in the next city at ungodly hours, whereas Springsteen has two planes and it is said they are in their next city before some people get out of the parking lot in the old city! Matt, you know why they have two planes? Well, they need the space, but the other reason is so Bruce and Patty can ride in different aircraft...the reason? If one of the planes goes down, the kids won't lose both parents. Anyway, being with Journey was a cool time, and my point was, despite all my rambling, was they do more than just wake up, rock out and party. However, some bands spend more time rehearsing/sound check than others. Hope I didn't bore people with this diatribe. Thought it might be interesting for some.

I fully appreciate that. They still have plenty of time to work out, especially when not on the road. Traveling for these guys isn't like traveling for us - I'm sure it's tiring as the tour goes on and on, but come on, their every need is pampered and they have all of their own shit.
