Arnel on Facebook?

Postby conversationpc » Tue Mar 30, 2010 4:17 am

What's the deal with all the stylish purse ads on Arnel's Facebook page? Annoying. Had to hide his newsfeed permanently.

A reflection of his fanbase. Wait until the Lenscrafter and Rosaries Are Us ads start showing up.

Seriously, I think a chic is in charge of his facebook account.

One of his "friends" posted the ad. If he has nothing to do with it, I suggest to remove.

Neal said awhile back not to advertise on his page because it might get out of control. And I agree.

There are areas of his life where he needs to get better at saying NO.

I've seen purses on fb, but they were really just cakes made to look like purses. Have no idea, maybe it's a cake purse fad over in Asia or something.

Just got thru chatting with him. Asked how things are going in the studio, and he said he's trying to "turn it upside down". I believe he will! Can't wait to hear what they come up with. :)

What do you suppose he means by that comment? He's tossing around the lyrics?

No, no... Just a phrase meaning he's going to go all out and really put his best effort into making it special.

Well, I'm ready to hear some more new Journey songs with the same style as AATY. Plus I would be interested to hear Arnel do SHML.

Two of Arnel's last three comments on his Facebook page sound like he's got issues with his charity undertakings, or actually the actions of people who are supposed to be his fans/helpers or what ever. Definitely lends creedence to what Chubby feared, about people around him taking advantage of his naivety. Dude needs to shrink his inner circle big time.

All three comments came on April 30. Why is he having to deal with this shit while he is in the studio?

What do the comments say, GB? He came on in the SB on his site briefly and said they're putting in seven-hour days, for the most part, and then some three-hour days also, but that he has a bunch of songs he has to sing this month for the album.

Note, these were quoted from his wall which is set to everyone so I'm not pasting private info, if that is a concern. I am Not on his friends list so nothing is below that isn't publicly viewable to begin with.

This was his initial post on April 27, he's excited about his project obviously.

"APFI is going to start its Street School Project very soon. We are calling our VOLUNTEERS to email us to be a part of this project. Email us at info@arnelpineda.org. Subject: VOLUNTEER. I am inviting my fans and friends to be a part of this team so that we may be able to grant the best education to all deserving p...oor Filipino children. Thank you! (Kindly repost or tweet. T.Y.)"

This is three days later on April 30, and it appears that something has riled him up.

" i see no reason why politics be mixed in this FOUNDATION we all built to help the [i]underprivilege children...no logic at all...senseless in a million ways...so please, just please...im begging everybody to just unite and help without expecting any recognition or glory in return..GODSPEED!"

"mudslinging, pride and bloated ego are rusts that eats away the soul and heart within us..love and forgiveness and acceptance is the answer,if you happen to look for a minute redemption youve been looking for for the longest time..."

"and prejudism?...why prejudism?...it is but a garbage outlook...gather around people and conquer this negativity.."

While two of the posts can be said to be referring to something different, the first comment at least can't really be regarding anything else but concerns within his foundation.
Too bad he didn't take a break from all this while he in the studio, you would think his handlers could isolate him from this crap for at least a few weeks while he doing his real job.
He needs to figure out who it is that actually cares about him and separate that from those who really just care about being associated with him.

Interesting. From what I've read, he has a trusted inner circle of friends who look out for him, especially via his foundation work that run it. But I guarantee you there's others that come on board that want his attention or are expecting to get close to him by volunteering or are keeping score who's closer or getting more recognition. They probably don't even acknowledge it to themselves. Sometimes with age DOESN'T come wisdom. Arnel seems to have gained it in spades, though.

Arnel doesn't need this crap right now. You know, I have witnessed this first hand. There is a faction of the Filipino population, with immigrants to US being the worst, who gossip and backstab one another. Those types are extremely competetive and are always trying to one up one another. If Arnel has gotten ahold of any of those types of people to help run his foundation, he may have been duped into thinking he had good friends who would look out for him, when he may have just gotten power & money hungry peeps. My wife is Filipina and we've been married for 30 years. Her inner circle does not consist of Filipinos because of bad experiences like this. We had a time about 15 years ago when we were down on our luck and some things really fell apart. There were private things, things you would tell noone, except a close friend. Those things were broadcast like the evening news by a turncoat backstabbing bitch who had been a friend, or so we thought, for over 10 years. I don't want to disparage Filipinos, because it's not just them, it can be everybody. You just have to be very careful who you trust completely. I hope Arnel finds the trustworthiness he needs in the people he depend on.

A close friend, or so you thought, who broadcasts private information, can be any race, trust me. And I've worked in an all-female office for years and in the earlier years a lot of backstabbing would happen in our predominantly white office.

Absolutely understand that. As I stated, it can be anyone. Naturally the Filipinos are drawn to Arnel and them wanting to help with the foundation is probably the reasoning they use to try and get close to him.

When people interact with different cultures for the first time (as some members here have done of late), it's so natural to think that they are somehow nicer than, us more friendly than us, etc., etc. But when you look at it from the other side, don't most of us (initially) put on our best face when meeting people different than us? Once you get past those first initial impressions, unless you delve deeper you will never see that all people, no matter from where in the world have the same faults and strengths as you and I. Ego, compassion, prejudice, humility, it's the same for all of us. Every group has it's good and bad elements, it's what makes us human, after all.
