I wish there was a vid of the Procol Harum song--great cover choice...

Would love to hear something, anything from BTT or LN. Sounds like Arnel has rubbed off on him with all the covers. Oh well, for 30 bucks, I can't really complain.

Khoutek
Slow Down
The Time
Gotta Get back To You
Hole In My Pocket (Marco vocals)
Whiter Shade Of Pale (Procol Harum cover)
Walkin Out The Door
Higher Ground (Stevie wonder cover-Marco vocals)
I On U
I’m In Love
Valley Of The Kings / Giza
My Home Town
Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin cover)
I’m Gonna leave You (Led Zeppelin cover)

Cool setlist. I would have liked to have been there. Isn't anyone posting vids of these gigs?

Neal has done Whiter Shade of Pale before, in his HSAS days:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpw_Hx-ABrM

Would love to hear Neal's band do Of A Lifetime now, although it wouldn't be the same without Gregg Rolie's vocals. Neal rips through the solo on that song. Was nice to hear it on the Generations tour, although Friga's vocals didn't do it justice. That song needs a bit of a haunting delivery, which just isn't Friga's game.

Why? Arnel isn't singing.

Puck the Flokkers

I was hoping someone would post vids for those of us who can't attend a show. I'd even settle for a soundboard boot.

I'm quoting from the review. What did they play at the shows you went to? Zep's Babe, I'm gonna leave you or The Journey track from Look Into The Future?

Man, these set lists are pretty short and kinda underwhelming, to be honest. All those covers = LAME. Luke's tour buttfucked this tour six ways from Sunday. The covers he played were songs he had a hand in writing and/or recording. Much different. Plus, he played much longer sets.

No BTT material? No "No More Lies?" Only a handful of deep old pre-Perry Journey cuts? I'm glad I didn't buy a plane ticket or anything crazy like that to see this...

Neal is just trying to have some fun and keep working while Journey has the year off. He can't sit still. I still don't understand why Journey didn't tour this year, unless it was all about Neal wanting to do his own thing. :?

Personally, I think they fucked up. They'll be recording a new album next month, which probably could have been recorded closer to the first of the year and been released right before a summer tour. But, who am I to second guess Journey management?

I think Ewmatt's point is that Neal has a lot of great tunes, even stuff that's been nominated for a Grammy. Instead of giving us that, he's loading up on covers and stuff that isn't on par with his best material.

Beyond The Thunder and Late Nite are considered by many, critics included, to contain some of Neal's greatest work as a solo artist. Yet not one track is being played on this tour.

Precisely. I'm sure jamming out on a cover or two is fun, but that's excessive, especially given how short the set is. Man, Luke played for 3 hours with strep throat. Guy looked like he was about to die but played like he was a god.

I love Neal too man. I just can't help but be dismayed at that set list, especially when he was promising Beyond the Thunder material on his Facebook status leading up to this tour. I'd still see it if it were local, but that either way that set list blows

Me. I think Deb is driving up from last night's show in San Diego. I'm really surprised no more locals are talking about it. I just checked and there are still quite a few tickets left. Maybe a lot of walk ups?
It doesn't rain for two months and tonight it decides to thunderstorm, what's up with that?

The doors open at 8pm if you're not doing dinner. I get home around seven from work. I'll leave the house around 7:30 so should be there between 8 and 8:15. I'm only 7.6 miles away but you know how LA. traffic is.

Definitely a lame set list.
Not a single thing from Late Night and a bunch of covers?

Come on Neal- WHY not do more of YOUR songs??

This is mind boggling to me. If he's selling tickets for HIS show, then his material would certainly be welcomed by the audience, would it not?
