Steve Augeri live date

Was looking at LeRoux's website to get some background on Fergie Frederiksen's time with the band and found this:

http://www.laleroux.com/main.html
Leon and Ed White of White Oak Productions have put together an all-star band for a Texas Roadhouse Corporate party on April 14, 2010 at The Statue of Liberty in New York. The band includes members of LeRoux with The Doobie Brothers' Tom Johnston, Blues Brothers' Steve Cropper, Wet Willie's Jimmy Hall, Jimi Jamison, Toto's Dennis Frederiksen, and Journey's Steve Augeri.

Anyone have any insider information? It is apparently a corporate party, but I know some of you have found your way into these in the past, even as outsiders.

Texas Roadhouse is a restaurant chain. Their website is http://www.texasroadhouse.com/home.php.

Ad is a bit deceptive, as though to imply SA is still with Journey.

Not really. As long as these guys continue to have credits on the latest album releases from the band, they are in fact "the sixth member".

I'm working out of my house today, and I decided to put on some music. I couldn't decide what I wanted to listen to and saw Arrival and realized I hadn't listened to it in quite a while. Listening to it has made me remember how much I love this album.

What a great album--I've listened to Signs of Life about 15 times tonight... Neal's guitar work on it reminds me of another Journey song that I can't quite place--oh, well. Texas Roadhouse is a chain of restaurants that Willie is involved with somehow; he might own the franchise or something... Anyway, New York, wow...

Would anyone know which song I'm trying to remember? It's bothering me, lol.

I wonder if Augeri is allowed to be billed as "Journey's Steve Augeri?" Seems to me they probably ended that luxury after SA was termed.

I also wonder how they can get away with calling this an "all star band" as well.

Should be something of a make of break moment.
This audience is going to expect to hear Journey tunes, and not played in a stripped-down accoustic fashion.
Wonder if SA can deliver?

Steve Cropper - absofuckinglutely excellent.

Probably never on your radar - however, excellent all the same.

Never know, not having them stripped down could be an advantage. You can always turn the guitars up and vocals down... If you're having any trouble, easier to hide it than in an acoustic setting. My guess is that he's ready and able to sing the tunes he's going to sing. He'll stay away from the ones that give him more trouble, and may be singing them in a lower key as well. Hopefully, he does well.

Cropper is the only one of those I'd consider to be an "all star."

Agreed. He was also great in the Blues Brothers.

Jamison is a B singer at best. These clowns who berate me on Springsteen have the fucking gall to throw Jamison out there like he is better. Morons. And no, Jamison is not a better live singer than Bruce, not even close.

Seriously you need to have your hearing checked. Jimi Jamison is an A singer. Springsteen is not even in his league. Springsteen gets by like Dylan. Even Tom Petty is a better live singer than Bruce.

he's a good vocalist, but how many songs does he have that normal people have heard of? I think that's the criteria here.
