One thing, though. Haven't they been "heading into the studio" since like, November?
Head into the damns studio already.

No. They've been writing for awhile, but Arnel wasn't even in the U.S. until just now. "Fucking wicked"? I like the sound of that.

The way I understood it was that they were writing together (JC and Neal) and now they're going in the studio to record it?

I wonder if it will still sound like Journey or if they are going to reinvent their sound and shed the Steve shadow?

It will be April 19, according to him on Facebook.

From what I've read here, the next CD will be a concept album, so I'd say there will be some material that will sound like Journey of old, but some different stuff too.

Really? You're just a regular Sherlock Holmes, aren't you?

Please repress your Asian Lady Boy love until we actually get some sound samples released, okay? Now, go back and collect your manhood card.

Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. Chubby must have rubbed off on me.

I guess I'm just excited that the new album, which supposedly promises to be different is under way. :D

Tell me about clips. Does the band leak them to give people a sample, or are they leaked by an insider? I can't wait to hear if it's rocking as Neal says. I wonder which songs they're gonna cover?

I would think the distributor will host clips. Neal has not mentioned anything about Wal-Mart so who knows who will handle that?
For all we know, they may just sell the album exclusively through their website or an online service like iTunes/Amazon Music.

Aren't the Walmart deals normally one shot? I guess it was two already if you count the last DVD.

The price point will be interesting. You just got a three disc set for 12 dollars and two disc DVD set for 10. So, how much do you charge for an individual album of 12 - 15 songs? I'll say $8.99 through digital download.

Depends on where it's sold. A lot of albums still sell for $12-$15 on Amazon. Journey's greatest hits is only $9 on Amazon. Sade's latest has plummeted in price to $7.99. It must not be well liked. I like a couple songs from it.

Actually, Sade's album has already been certified Platinum by the RIAA after only two months. It's one disc so it's really one million sales. Sort of shocked me that it did so well. It's only 10 songs too, a real old school type of release.

She only releases an album about once a decade too, but it's enough. I wonder if she's kept a sex slave somewhere and only let into the studio when money runs low?

Journey set to record new album

BUOYED BY the success of its 2008 album “Revelation,” which went platinum (1 million copies sold), American pop-rock band Journey is due to record a new disc next week in San Francisco. “We’re entering the studio on April 19 and will finish by June 3. We’re coming up with a more diverse lineup of songs,” the band’s Filipino lead singer Arnel Pineda told the Inquirer before leaving Manila on Sunday. Journey’s most recent release, “Live in Manila,” a 2-DVD set of its March 2009 concert at the Mall of Asia, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Music Video Sales chart, according to the band’s website.

So, done by June 3......does that mean a 2010 release, or 2011, maybe right before the tour?

Two months in studio? So, no diction issues when it comes out then, right?

Right now they are working out which songs will go on the album. Sounds like a good number of the songs written will make the cut. AP definitely has a great part in the writing process this time around. :)

With that many songs, why don't they do like the Eagles and create a two disc album of new music? An album with 22 new songs worked out pretty well for Henley and crew.

It's Journey dipstick.

What do Journey and the Eagles have incommon?
