I wonder what other dates? I've heard Atlantic City, Reno and Las Vegas are scheduled.

Arnel Pineda [Rancho Mirage, CA]
Saturday, July 10th, 2010 at 8:00PM Pacific

Ticket Prices:
$98.00 - Orchestra
$88.00 - Loge
$68.00 - Mezzanine
$48.00 - Balcony

Prices seem a bit agressive. I'd think no more than $25, except VIP, should be the norm.

Don't worry, he's not going to sing any Journey songs, just his own son....
Wait.
Strike that.
He's not going to sing any Journey songs, just everyone else's.

That said, he will probably sell out, the rosary brigade will be at these casino shows in full force. The Asian 'Wayne Newton', for sure. Rachelle Ann Go is a pretty big star to boot, you might say she is the bigger draw here so it should be full houses, regardless.
I ain't hating though. Make that money while you can, son.

I can't imagine Journey isn't playing any dates in the U.S. this year. May not be anything you'll find on Pollstar though.

LOL - anything over $20 for Arnel solo is absolutely ABSURD. Holy shit! Whoever is setting these prices is smoking something fierce! This isn't a knock on the guy at all, that's just ridiculous.

These shows are being targeted at strickly Filipino audiences. The chick he is touring with has two platinum and three gold albums in the Philippines. I don't think he is going to fill these places all by himself. He has no original catalog at all to draw from besides one or two songs. No way Neal is going to let him go out there and sing more than two or three Journey songs. Yeah, Perry did it but he also partially OWNS 99% of the songs in his setlist. Obviously, not the case here.

In Chicago, 2009 with Lani Misalucha, the cheapest price was $70+, if I am not mistaken. The place was packed.

I think the girls were and are the main draw here. For Arnel though, its a good chance for easy money and a way to keep his pipes fresh. Definately not a 'solo tour' by any stretch of the imagination.

I wish him luck. The only Filipino/Filipina I've ever paid to see is Lea Salonga (I saw a Regine Velasquez show but someone else paid for my ticket). I'm sure his home grown fans will suppliment the Rachel Ann Go fans nicely. For me, watching The local Pinoys sing covers at the Max's Of Manila Resturant in Glendale is perfect, considering it only cost the price of a meal and a few drinks.

I had front row center and, while there was a really nice crowd, it wasn't "packed." I'd say between 7 hundred and a thousand people.

It's all about location, like at the ball games. The bathrooms are always full no matter what the venue is. Maybe that's where The Chubster saw it packed.

Not sure how. The band is taking the year off and Arnel is doing these gigs to support his charity. He's a good man. :D

Arnel is very dedicated to charity work and this will also help keep his voice in shape. This is a win-win for everyone.

I was not able to go but I asked my brother-in-law for availability of tickets and he told me that there were a few $120+ left. Then, after the show, I asked someone who attended and he told me that it was packed. I should have quoted him.

Btw Sushi seems to have a different persona.

Dude, you cannot be serious with this. This has the makings of a perfect storm. I cannot believe Neal or Cain would go for this let alone Azoff. I am shocked, and IMHO this is not a good sign if you're a Journey fan.

Add to it, the insane prices he is asking. Who besides the plokkers are going to pay $48 let alone $98(LOL) to see him? This is a joke. Yeah I know Chubby, it will be packed. Good fucking grief. The band is finally being smart, taking time off, staying away, and yet their singer is going to go out and bring his karaoke show to the US? Unbelievable.

Yeah this is alittle nuts. Look I like AP but he's touring in us without Journey. That is insane!! Is Azoff sleeping or what? I thought they taking off because he was exhausted or to preserve his voice? Does this band have a clue what it is doing now? For REAL

According to this article in Chicago, 2,000 people came to watch Pineda and Misalucha during their concert and it's the first time that they ran out of the most expensive tickets.

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/entertainmen ... -recession

In Anaheim, California, close to near capacity crowd of 2500 attended the concert.

To Rockindeano and Ehwmatt, before you LOL, the prices are not insane nor ridiculous, that's the norm for that kind of venue. Here's an example.......

In Hayward, CA - 2009
http://madebymarco.com/filamusic/?p=257
Tickets:
$110, $78, $58, $48
Limited Seats Only

Your good. Yes, my persona has been a bit different right now. Not because anyone hijacked my account or anything. Yeah....I get extra cranky when I have to travel back to America, starting the night before when I think about having to head to Narita the next morning to catch the flight.

Kind of a stupid thought, but assuming Arnel's Visa and paperwork requires him to work, does he have to "work" a certain number of days/hours/whatever a year in the US to maintain his eligability status so they don't have to go through the filing process year after year? I totally agree that I can't see Arnel, alone, being such a draw, especially at that price.
