Well well well globe people
I didn`t thought that there wouldn`t be no one to reply on my topic!!!!
But i guess that it takes to much time to look and listen to our Dutch journey tribute band compilation.
It`s just a way to keep Journey alive in Holland and in Europe.
Lets hope that people who read this will take the time to investigate the youtube file from Another journey and give them a fair reply.
Just as Journey would say "DON`T STOP BELIEVIN`"

Come on journey music lovers all over the world!!!!!!!!

Hey there and welcome

I listened to the whole thing on headphones, as my Husband Mark works from home....and is sitting to my right.
In doing that, I was able to hear everything very clearly - this is a good sound-board recording!

Here's my feedback:

Separate Ways - The intro sounds a lot like the Live Journey CD - well done! The instrumentation is very tight and VERY close to the original....the vocal phrasing and harmonies are spot-on & the Vocalist was able to hit that distinct "Perry Tone". Impressive.

Lights - Tight harmonies; Vocals follow the original very well with that Tone. Nice guitar solo.

GCHI - The intro is very tight - sounds like the recording - again, hitting that Tone all over the place - chorus harmonies are excellent. To be honest, this sounds better than the live FTLOSM version - with Steve!

Mother, Father - ANYone who attempts this - in the ORIGINAL KEY with the TONE - gets MAJOR PROPS in my book! WELL DONE - ALL AROUND!

Open Arms - Instrumentation is good.....my only comment is that the Vocal phrasing needs to be relaxed a bit; not so stacatto...otherwise, very good.

Keep On Runnin' - You guys are KILLING ME! Original key - again, major props...."Escape" material can easily kill a Vocalist....he did a good job....."if it makes you wanna jump and SHOUT, do it!!" He nailed the note on "shout"

Don't Stop Believin' - Again, original key; Tone; phrasing; harmonies; instrumentation....spot-on.

Majestic- Wow; haven't heard this in ages......very Progressive of Journey. Good job.

I believe after all the post i read in other topics. that most of the people around here will only write when they can hurt each other with hard words.
What a strange sence of humor some people have.
And when a few guys from Holland (europe) asked about some comment on their homemade video compilation ONLY one (thank you sincerly) has made a comment.
Maybe this will help to get some more??????

I don't even know what you mean with that statement. Anyway, I will say I thought you did a good job on Lights. With that said, the video is VERY weird to me dude... you guys are using actual promo voice overdubs from real Journey concerts, as well as Journey photos and artwork to promote your songs. I'm not an expert on this subject, but I believe that using the images and artwork without the bands permission is a no-no.

The way the narrative voices pop up from time to time in there is terrible. Just my opinion. And I'm not trying to "hurt you with my words", just being honest with you. I know someone else who was harassed by Journey's lawyers to get their images and artwork off of their bands promotional material or they were going to sue them.

I wish you guys the best of luck. Oh, and I DO have a strange sense of humor!

I agree w/Jimbo ^^^^Lights was fantastic!! Will listen to more later!! I don't
know about all the other stuff^^^, but the pictures of the band are great, you have an
Arnel look alike in your band ?!?

Yes i`am the singer of this great TRIBUTE band.

We just want the people in Holland and Europe to know that there is a great band in America.
Every once in a while they can find time to play some gigs in Europe.
If they don`t come to our country the people can always take a look and listen to our TRIBUTE to the best AOR band in the world.

You need to chill. What, you expect the melodic rock members to come running (wooden clogs and all) with a bunch of tulips and hash brownies?

I think you guys pull it off pretty okay. But dude, Netherland is not gonna win the WC. No way.
