Bon Jovi and Depeche Mode can still still out stadiums, 25 year on. I would choose the latter over the former though as their genre isn't very well represented in the HOF.

Totally agree with Rush, Alice, KISS and most of all, SRV!!!!
The Beasties seem like a glaring omission to me too, given the New York City bias the Hall has shown in inducting Blondie and Patti Smith.
The Cure and the Smiths were right there at the top of the underground music scene with R.E.M. in the 80's, and should be recognized for it. (I'm partial to the Replacements, myself)
I hate to say it, but Bon Jovi really should be there for longevity, and for extending their relevance by branching out to other genres.

Tears for Fears? Get real.
Depeche Mode? Yeah right.
Billy Idol? Come on.

Even though Tears for Fears is in my top three favorite bands and own everything Roland has put his voice to, they shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame at all. Only put out three albums in the 80s (all brilliant I must say), broke up, and Roland as TFF put out two in the '90s, though, both great albums. Plus, released a B side album. And only one in this decade together, that was an average seller, though I truly love that CD. And they just don't tour much and don't seem to want to. Their huge success was only in the '80s.

Depeche Mode are brilliant and still going strong and really still do big tours in support of their music, and I adore them, but very much electronica music. So I don't see them being inducted.

Billy Idol, can't comment on. Don't follow him enough to know. But, hey, Madonna got in.
