Okay, time for some fun

Here are some musings? lyrics? poetry? from Arnel's Facebook page (which is on public view, so nothing under the radar here). Little snippets of wall posts, spread out over the last week or so.

Have a gander and let us know what you think they are and if it's something you could dig as far as song material IF it did happen to be lyrics..

A shout out to ****, who got the wind up on these.

almost perfect

and her eyes...

Battered we may from the very words uttered by our minds
Comes A flicker of awakenings
That'll lead to new beginnings
Set forth my friends with the harness
Leave the verbs of madness
...Behind the tears your eyes shed
A long time ago...

to belie what's so obvious
to portray what's hidden beneath
while galloped by injustices
hard it may be to breathe
prevail we will
...for mankind's prayer has power over evil
so gather and thank the ALMIGHTY...
he has and will always be and for eternity
only the one ONE who has the power
to hear and heed our pleas...

fun friends are so common nowadays
but true friends...yes,true friends..
as rare as meeting your once in a lifetime's soul mate
like a blue diamond
or a one in a billion coincidence
...mysteriously intangible
reachable and yet,elusive
wherever you are TRUE FRIEND
i'd like to have a chat with YOU....

seated on the corner of our bed
trying to focus on what my eyes are looking at
but everything looks blurry
im searching deeper down my memory
ive got to empty my head
...maybe it'll help me figure that
old feeling,somehow empty
trying to whisper something but no hurry
coz i'll be in this corner of our bed
for a while....
take your time old feeling
lull with me..

subtle lies
then shuttle flies
yet there she cries
oohh,thats all she does...
her wishing well
...her rundown tale
she feels to tell
a story so pale
nothing gain
nothing won
all are lost
we are not one

Somehow she's managed to escape from my wrath
Yet somehow she wasn't that lucky enough
Coz I'm on her,still
While I'm breathing,still
She can run all she wants
Take a leap as she pants
She won't miss me
Coz I'll be in her dreams...
Wearing a colored grin
With a light that beams
Through her soul
I'll come so whole...

Let's just all try
At least a little bit more effort...
To find within us
That caring fort
The tender love
...Those reaching hands
Kind and understanding
And ready to offer earth's fallow lands

Winning seems to matter more than losing
At least to a lot of people I see everyday...
Ever tried breaking into a million pieces before finding yourself whole and new?
Easier said than done,I know..
But all things done shortcut shallows you only
...And the rest done in a manner so painful
Deepens more but your relationship with your GOD

Look at us..
Standing around,feeling
As if we have achieved so much
When all what we've got
Are just a handful grains of sands
...To reflect against our full magical potential

Fighting over something
Like we're kicked right to our crotch

forgiveness in our hearts was left to rot
where have all they gone,those kind caressing hands?
dancing to glitz of masquerades and superficial..
maybe someday

Well, like I said, these could just be musings or his own works that haven't been used for anything, even poetry for all we know.

Or it could be nothing at all, but since we got another six months to kill before a potential new release we might as well have a go at playing Sherlock Holmes.

Arnel is sure to have Neal's blessing if these are lyrics. He knows anything he says will spread like wild fire, no way he does something reckless like that.

I'll tell you what. If these really were lyrics to songs from Journey's upcoming album, I'd have to applaud Neal because with the exception of Dream After Dream, this doesn't sound like anything I've heard from the band before and definitely not since Cain joined the line up.

Perhaps some of the ideas from this "concept" came from inspiration from some of these lyrics/poems, and honestly some of it is a fresh move away from the same stale Cain lyrics we're all used to hearing. I know he wasn't the only writer, but if Perry can get away with god awful lyrics on Street Talk and FTLOSM, and Cain can get away with shit like "What it takes to win" this shit will do just fine.

I agree ...some of it!! I mean Sweet and Simple, was just that ...nothing lyrics, but made into something
soooo beautiful and to this day, one of my favs!! You could be right!!:wink:

The right music and vocals can elevate some borderline lyrics, but "subtle lies, then shuttle flies yet there she cries oohh..." - just because it rhymes doesn't mean it will work!

Like I said, it could just be bad poetry or attempts at Haiku. If it's lyrics, I see it more along the lines of Rush or even early Triumph.

They're from his facebook wall and are being posted by him. Most of the verses have been posted on different days. I felt it would give us something to discuss as it's pretty much dead in here regarding anything Journey related.
And these are on his public page, nothing private at all. With 4,000+ friends linked to that account, I don't think he's going to post anything private there to begin with.
