As many Perry Loons do from time to time, once every few months I check Google to see if there is any Steve Perry news. When I started typing in "Steve Perry" on a Google search today, the first suggestion in line was "steve perry of journey dead". I know that Google adds these seggestions based on what people type in the most - so this means that "steve perry of journey dead" is the most popular phrase that people search for when using the name "steve perry".

What other world-renowned singer has ever just up and quit their singing career while in their prime like Perry did? Can you think of any, other than quitting due to old age and/or health limitations?

I figure the guy must be plagued with anxiety pretty bad. Nothing else would explain it, and anxiety disorders are the #1 reason that people isolate and withdraw from their normal life patterns.

I can remember in the late '80 s a persistent rumor going around that SP had throat cancer and that was the reason the band broke up. No truth to it of course, but I heard it over and over again.

He might have become a pain killer addict after his surgery, if he ever really had surgery. Come to think about it I don't recall anyone ever discussing his surgery or his recovery process, therapy, etc......ever. Highly suspect, to say the least. What he said in BTM about being "toast" is probably the only reason for his withdrawal from public performances. He simply shut down.
