Two Fires III with unused Journey track

Looks like fans will finally get to hear those unused Journey songs Chalfant always boasted that he kept stashed in his sock drawer - or one of them at least.
From the homepage -
"[Some thing are Better Left Unsaid] is a song I wrote with Neal and Gregg in 1993 after I performed live with Journey. I believe the original design for this song was to be for Journey. I would have to say it is probably one of the stand outs on this CD. When I lived in Northern California then, it was easy to put writing sessions together at Gregg's cabin. I still have a few more of them up my sleeve."

Cool. Love Chalfant. Didn't really dig any of Two Fires stuff though. I'd love to hear what Chalfant would bring to the table writing-wise with Journey not to mention his vox. Can't get into the whole Pineda thing.

Love the first one. Second one was kind of a drag, and KC sounded raspy. These albums are just place holders for the day when Gregg and KC deliver a proper Storm album(if ever). Like Perry, I'll always give a new Chalfant release a listen

I'll def. buy Journey's next album, but, yeh, can't say that I'm really feeling it anymore either.

I like it. I was a fan of The Storm and this has a very polished, stepped up Storm sound.
I still say the world would have been a better place if Perry stayed solo and Journey moved on with Chalfant.

Perhaps even better if Journey had moved on with Chalfant
& Rolie, making Journey a six-piece.
later!

Ignition was a great record. The follow-up was pretty strong, too...the title track to the first CD is awesome. Have you heard it?

Can you really call it Two Fires without Josh? I've seen Kevin's current band several times and they are WEAK. Kevin's vocals are great, his band is not. Fuck only knows why Kevin doesn't have Josh as part of this deal but it sucks. I am looking forward to the Journey/Chalfant track but we'll need a guitarist to jazz it up. Larry, what you doing these days?
You know, we could hook up Kevin with Valentine and make a good run of it .... oh shite, that's been done already. "

Dude, they're great! Chuck is an excellent keyboardist and his guitar player sounds just like Rolie! They've kicked ass every time I've seen them. They also backed Voices of Rock Radio at MR Fest II.

Kevin is wanting to bring VoRR down our way and he told me about the Two Fires project a couple of months ago, plus the inclusion of the unused Journey song. I didn't realize Ramos wasn't in it though.

I do like the song!

Good god....always wondered about that "sock drawer" story. No doubt about it now...KC definitely could have filled the role. Still....there was only 1 SP and glad we had TBF.

A few more sound clips are up. Some don't work, but the ones that do sound very promising.

Hm, I'm with Aaron - I saw some YTs of Chalfant and his band performing and it was BAD. Not his voice though - just the instruments.

I'd like to hear this as well....It's too bad that 98% of America/casual Journey fans won't.

Thanks TNC. I'm pretty underwhelmed to be honest.

Going by the samples, each song sounds sorta the same (noticing a real lack of keyboards on this one), but I'm sure the hooks are there. And even if they aren't, KC will make it worth listening. Like Perry, he elevates even the most substandard material.
