Without a doubt, the strongest post-Perry Journey song.

Thoughts?

Yes...... No.

I thought they missed the boat entirely on the chorus. It just kills the song for me.

They re-recorded it for the Jap bonus track of Revelation. Wonder why they picked that song out of all the other ones?

Decent tune, but many others far better

Great song, but I'd probably give the nod to Higher Place.

Higher Place is a great song. Maybe I've just heard it too many times though. The outro guitar solo in Place In Your Heart is some of Neal's most impressive work, IMO.

I don't agree that it's Schon's best work, but it sure sounds great. I love the guitar in the song...very melodic.

Ditto. Bigger chorus needed.

hmm...interesting, I thought the chorus was very good. Moody like the rest of the song, but very good.

Maybe I'm one of the few that thought Higher Place was very average in the chorus department. Too....jumpy, if I've got the right word.

I like, but don't love the song. The problem for me is the transition into the chorus. It seems like they had good melodic verses and a good chorus separately and tried to put them together and they just don't flow.

Likely because it was a decent tune, like FITH, and nobody heard it on Generations. Though, I dislike the rerecorded versions of both the Generations tracks.

I'd put these songs above it:

- Higher Place
- Faith in the Heartland
- Never Too Late
- Out of Harms Way
- Remember Me
- Livin to Do
- I Got a Reason
- I Can Breathe
- Change for the Better
- Wildest Dreams
- What I needed

Maybe there were better Augeri era songs, but they didn't put APIYH or FITH on the rerecorded disc, they put it on the Revelation disc as l said, likely because they knew that they were decent tracks, but not heard because nobody bought or listened to Generations. They were aiming to have people think they were new, not recycled from the previous piss-poor selling record.

Though I like Place In Your Heart very much; I like Higher Place, World Gone Wild, and Remember Me even more.

I too love Neal's guitar on the Generations version of this song, but here are the post-Perry songs that are above it for me (in no particular order):

- Remember Me
- Higher Place
- Signs of Life
- Livin to Do
- To Be Alive Again
- Faith in the Heartland (Gens version)
- Never Walk Away
- We Will Meet Again
- Never Too Late
- Beyond the Clouds
- Out of Harm's Way

The song with the worse production on Disc one of Revelation, but really the only one I can listen to anymore from that album.

Same here... that opeing guitar riff sounds worse than a Fender Squire pack amplifier distortion and the backing vocals sound like they were recorded 2 miles away from the studio. But yeah, basically only song I've listened to off of Rev in forever. I like TDWT too... just not much for the sappy ballads in recent months.

Maybe not so bad heard in its own right, but definitely once you hear it with the rest of the album.

I remember when the single came out I figured "oh, this is obviously the single release and they rushed it or hadn't mastered it right yet." Then, I got the album, and it was the exact same.

I might just listen to this fuckin album, but I don't want to spend a cent on it. I may just do it via youtube.

Just grab the torrent off of PB. The last three times I was in Walmart there were no copies and no Manila DVD. Infact last time I was there the only Journey on the rack was 1 copy or ROR and 1 copy of Arrival...nothing else.

Oh dude, I will never buy anything from Journey again. LOL, are you fucking kidding me? I also don't need a good copy either. I will just listen from YT, and read the ridiculous comments from Pinoy Nation. God they're fucking out there. Screw Elvis, AP is the king of rocknroll. The Voice, the real Boss, the best ever.
