Brings back memories :D . I love both these songs together. Classic lineup Perry, Valory, Rolie, Smith and Schon.

You're killing me! Every time I'm content with the lineup these days, I'm reminded of an incredible era in Journey's history. No one can touch what Perry brought to the table both vocally and with respect to songwriting. Never happen, but I truly wish he'd at least sit down and write again with Neal and/or Jonathan.

Thanks for sharing the link -- great music.

That whole Chicago Soundstage concert was amazing. I remember watching it on PBS when it first aired and wishing I was sitting in that audience. Journey was never the same vocally after Mr. Rolie left. He and Steve shared some killer harmonies....and Gregg had such a nice butt.

Me too!! This is probably the one thing I disagree w/Deb on ...although, I adore the ABE era smokey, sexy, soulful vox, my
favorite era of the band is right ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We actually don't disagree on this really, I do love the later SP vocal tone on Frontiers/ROR the best but I also love the Perry/Rollie duets. The contrast of their vocals is stunning. Especially on songs like Someday Soon and Just the Same Way, two faves. :)

Incredible!

I think I like the high clear voice on Perry. The early stuff just seemed to fly out of his face effortlessly. And the runs on those high notes were and are an inspiration for every male singer that every claimed to be a tenor.

My husband became more of a Journey fan of late. He loves the songs by Rollie and Perry together. Their voices did blend wonderfully.

So sad some things come to an end. I think there is something wonderful about most of the Perry era. I love his blend with Gregg, and Jon's writing was meant for his great voice. Gregg seemed to have such a fun spirit. I wished I had seen him live.

Thank goodness for the Midnight Special episodes, and old PBS reruns.

When did I get old, and the music fade.................... :(
