Very, very good. The guitar work is absolutely lovely--sounds a little like Roger McGuinn. To me Steve sounds a little like Rod Stewart (or is it Stuart??), too. I sometimes wish Neal would play his guitar like that without all the doodle, doodle, doodle of the notes (I guess that's shredding). I loved it.

It's good, sounds a bit like one of the tracks off Skyscraper. Definitely more of a Tall Stories vibe then Journey.

I like it quite a bit actually. The production quality has a "Better than Generations" feel to it.
It's got a bit of a "Believe" quality actually. Meaning, that Steve tends to find a riff and hammer it to death.
I didn't have a problem with "Believe" (as some did) and this one has a similar vibe. I like the acoustic guitar
(not to mention the one in the photo. Those Guild's are major pricey!). Remember when songs had bridges, and pre-choruses? Now it seems it's verse chorus solo chorus chorus chorus chorus.
I still like it. It's good to hear him and he sounds just like he always has. No rougher to my ears.

Really quite lovely. He sounds similar to Rod Stewart in his younger days. Love the melody on this.

If those were real steel drums (midway & toward the end) and the claves were accented, I could see a Carribean video...blue water, white sand, birds, tropics, gone a long time travelling/working on a big sailboat, now coming home, landing ashore - good to be home again, etc.

Nice epic sounds to this song...great assorted percussion.
Lotsa detail...almost a Brent Bourgeois and/or Richard Ashcroft.

Steve's awesome...

Love the way this track builds, but it could have been a more slamming track. It's missing some urgency that a bigger drum sound could bring. I'll wait and see what the final version/full audio contains.

Where dat vocals at? :D

As I said in another thread, the song's a little busy for me. I wish all that background instrumentation was used to support a stronger chorus. The "Believe" comparisons are valid. So too are comparisons to "Butterfly", in that both are intimate moody pieces, and not your typical arena rock fist pumper. There's almost a folk-rock element here. Vocals are above average, as usual. We shall see...

oops...wrong track. I was talking about the frontpage track.

New one...mmmm...mellow...sweet vocal. Chorus does nothing for me. Needs to be a generally uptempo album though. Here's hoping.

You drunk, Drew? I assume you're asking what I mean by "instrumentation." Sorry if I'm not clear...as other posters mentioned, there's alot of bells and whistles going on in this track. For starters, I hear lead acoustic guitar, an electric guitar solo, steel drum noises, other synth tracks, etc. It's just kind of busy to these ears.

Ahh, ok. Nevermind! I was wondering what the hell you meant by "Where dat vocals at?" LOL.

It was REALLY busy to me, at first, until I realized the instrumental track was playing at the same time the song was playing. LOL

Love it! I love the acoustic guitar so out in front and the mix is really nice.

Steve is in excellent voice. The best thing for his voice was probably leaving Journey when he did.

Unfortunately you're right because he was awesome in Journey, but taking over at the age he did, it was not meant to be long.

Song is decent enough, sounds a lot like he always did studio which is a positive but the material is kind of safe/bland on this song.

I can't find the new vocal track. Nothing interactive for me on the music page of his site.

When you get to the music page, click on Free Download... it will take a second or two, then click the "play" button on the player. Also, depending what computer you are trying to listen to it on, at work for instance, there might be some firewall that prohibits the song from playing. I can't play it at work, but works just fine at home.

That one is a new song on the CD too. He did it last night. It was good.

I like the insturmental better than the vocal track. Although it is probably a rough demo. Nice to hear from Mr. Augeri again.
