At least it helps quash the rumors that Journey was done......again.

I have a feeling these updates are no longer being handled by Lori Carpenter.

Unless Steve Perry is returning, then... it's a yawn. Can't listen to anything post Steve Perry and be interested in for more than a couple listens. Arrival was probably the last one I really listened to honestly.

Didn't someone say Lori and Neal broke up? She seemed to be the driving force behind the website re-do and getting Neal to interact online with fans. If she's out of the picture, I'm not surprised the website is back to being stagnant.

Why can't you listen to it? Is it your devout loyalty to Steve Perry or you're just telling yourself that you'll hate it, therefore it won't be worth a listen, in your mind.

Because he did listen and he did not like it........it's his opinion, one that is shared by others here.
I don't get why some here don't understand that some fans just don't care for the current line up.....to me it's
a mystery how some "new" fans can say the don't like the Perry line up or have no knowledge of the deep cuts from that era.
I guess it's all in what you like....you can love it all or just parts of it.
As for a devout loyalty to Steve Perry......I won't speak for Vladan....but for some people loyalty lies with the person who
helped create the music that has stood the test of time.

I tried to love Revelation, but for a couple of reasons I just don't. I will say that Never Walk Away is a great song.

I am hoping to catch a live show on this tour....who knows it might change my mind about this version of Journey.

Portland explained a part of it, yes, thank you Portland.

For me it's simple. Steve Perry is just a better singer period, his delivery is far better than the other guys and seemed like he understand the art of singing better than any Journey singer. And Journey had better albums back in the 80's IMO, also current for their time, also Steve Perry did not have to step into somebody elses shoes, or try live up to a previous singers expections or "Legacy", he just went out there and did his thing, and him and the boys created the legacy together. But according to Steve Perry, he never felt like he was part of the band, so who knows.

Now, having said all that anything post Perry is rock solid musically, they sound amazing today, though... IMO Steve Perry & Journey go hand in hand, Perry without Journey is good, just like Journey without perry is good, together they are dynamite!.

Find somebody who has never listened to Journey, or knows of them but doesn't listen to them much. Play a song from each era/period, a different frontman, or replacement, and see what song gets the best reaction, and which singer causes the most interest.

I've been really critical of Perry and how he handled things, but I have no interest in the new Journey lineup either.
