I sincerely hope this is not his best track from his new album. It sounds pretty shitty to me.

Clip is lackluster.

Safe. None of the Journeyesque notes of Arrival, Red13 or Generations.

But then I only heard the clip.

Thank you iTunes for having the preview function so I didn't waste 99 cents on that garbage. Jesus. Waited how many years for that?

Out of all the tracks that have been released or heard, this one is probably the weakest. 'Home Again' sounds pretty good and 'Common Ground' has potential but I'll save judgement until I hear it with vocals.

glad you all got the chance to put in your negative $.02

newsflash Red: it's solo steve augeri.....shouldn't have journeyesque notes....definitely going more towards a bluesy feel.

bottom line is a lot of us are very pleased with it and look forward to the rest.

Sounds like Augeri is going for an old school 70's soul vibe. No, it's not the second coming of Don't Stop Believin. Hell, it's not even the second coming of Gone Crazy. If you're a fan of SA's non-Journey work, you should find something here to enjoy. Red is correct. The vocal is very understated. At times, SA seems to even pull back. Then again, I'm not sure this low-key material calls for Perryesque money notes.

Part of the reason he got the gig in '98 was because OUTSIDE of Journey he sounded like Journey.

However, he does have the bluesy side as you state, which I like. I fully understand that he need not be quite as perryesque solo.
I expect a good album because I remain a big Augeri fan, I just hope I can actually buy it on cd in a store.
I'll go the online cd purchase if need be but don't do digital only purchases.

Arguable. I think much of Tall Stories and Tyketto (especially), sounds nothing remotely close to Perry or Journey. Even the song Neal supposedly confused for a Journey track, 'Wild on the Run', sounds different .

I liked both Tall Stories cds and Tyketto. On Tyketto Augeri sounds less Perry like than any cd. It has a very raw nature to it. I haven't really listened to any clips from the cd. Most of the time clips do the real song no justice what so ever.
Unlike Red, I very seldom buy cds anymore. I buy my music from either Amazon or Napster. But I will probably buy this cd like I did the new Two Fires cd.

That's cool. Here's a question....didn't Augeri just recently go in the studio and record this? What happened to his supposed solo release 'In the Moment'?
If he's recording material on a song-by-song basis, does the solo album even exist?

he did an interview with a florida radio station recently and talked about possibly going a self release route and putting out individual songs instead of a cd. i think this route gives him more opportunity to fine tune songs, get a feel for what fans like and don't like, but still be able to get music out there to them. where as an "album" release would need to be complete. i believe he sited ingrid michaelson as an artist who went that route and it worked for her. she has had songs picked up by greys anatomy, one tree hill, hallmark etc. not that i think augeri is looking for that lol i think this is just his time to put out music that reflects him and hopefully his fans will love it. he doesn't have that rock star mentality that it has to be huge. the great reception riverside and common ground got at the kentucky show bolstered the entire band.
