Perry asks to rejoin Journey

Former Journey frontman Steve Perry has stunned his former bandmates by asking to rejoin the group in the wake of the rockers' recent chart revival.

Perry left the band for good in 1998 to embark on a solo career and Filipino singer Arnel Pineda took over vocal duties in 2007.

They have since enjoyed renewed success after their power ballad Don't Stop Believin' was covered by the cast of hit TV musical Glee.

And now former frontman Perry allegedly wants to rejoin the band, according to founding member Neal Schon.

The guitarist tells Britain's Daily Star, "He seems to be enjoying the spotlight a little too much. The fact is he's no longer the lead singer. He walked out."

Neal's quote doesn't actually say Perry wants to rejoin but if he does I hope Neal brings out his "fuck him" line again.
It won't happen, Perry has known for 15 years that he can't handle this catalog anymore.

100% false...and that's officially confirmed.

There's been no contact at all. Band with Arnel are booked thru 2012.

Also in the Sun Entertainment section is an article about a three titted purple woman from Mars who is now singing for the Metropolitan Opera .. another believable Sun article. :!:

Agree with MG here.... And, if this was true... Neal would STFU and bring him back in a heartbeat, because they'd make more bank doing a couple dozen arena shows with Perry than they will make on the entire "Yet TBD" tour coming up.

Damn straight, they would! Sure, they say the story is bogus (meaning that Steve hasn't contacted THEM to rejoin), but if they had an opportunity to get the voice that they've been trying to copy all these years actually come back, they would hear dollar signs ringing in their heads, and welcome him back immediately!

The attention that Steve Perry keeps getting recently is a testament to how much the public misses him and there is no way that they'd NOT want to cash in on that.

Just imagine if Perry came back after tix went on sale, all the money Arnel fans could make selling their $8 tickets to Journey fans for $200 a pop. What a windfall.

I'd bet my money on a three titted purple woman existing before seeing Perry sing again.

The sad thing is, those fucking retarded Pinoy fans wouldn't go to see Perry. To them, Journey is Arnel. They're ridiculous.

My bet is that Schon did state this and it's his way of getting attention, adverse or otherwise. He might later say, "I said that WE asked him to rejoin the band" You guys quoted me wrong."

If Perry was really told no, I think it's just a bit of Karma coming around. Good on the Neal. Can you imagine how it must have felt for Neal to be in a position to tell Perry to fuck off? Epic shit.

See Andrews AV....that about sums up the chance that Perry would EVER ask Neal if he could come back.....

Are you fucking drunk? Good on Neal? Neal is a douche, dude. He would never tell Perry to fuck off if a reunion was imminent. Perry continues to toy with Schon on an almost daily basis. It's quite funny how Schon gets all pissy and can't do a thing about it. Good on Perry.

The only people on this earth that would not be excited about an eminent reconciliation are
1) Idiots
2) The Pinoy Pinheads, who were never really fans until recently ...

Which category do you fall into?!?!

And the realists understand it's just not going to happen. Still, however, if Steve did ask and Neal said no, it would be right after what he did to the band....twice. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to hear him sing again, but I know reality from fantasy.

Apparently not if you think Neal would ever say no ...

My reality has already been stated ^^^^

How long before word spreads around the official band sites that this article is true?
SEVERELY EDITED BECAUSE IT'S FRIDAY AND I DON'T WANT TO BE A TOTAL DOUCHE.

i have to laugh everytime something like this is posted.
if perry could still sing, or wanted to he would
how do you figure journey would make a ton more money with perry,
80% of the people at the concert dont know its not steve up there, and the 20 % that do know , already paid 130.0 to sit up front of 700.00 to do the i luv all ripoffs.
there are no classic acts playing stadiums on a complete tour so i doubt journey could do a 20/40 city stadium tour.
steve was great once, but hes just as much to blame , and hes been just as big as a dick.

I couldn't find any thing on the Daily Star's site concerning the aforementioned article BUT I did pick up this tidbit.

Angelina Jolie has bought her daughter a dead animal as a pet.

The 35-year-old got the stuffed creature after Shiloh, four, found a dead bird.
Angie said: “She came in and said: ‘Can I have a dead pet?’ And I said: ‘I don’t think it’s healthy honey.’
I had to run out to find a taxidermy bird. I just worked it out for her.”

A few things happened when I read this article.

I discovered that I might be somewhat of a loon because I got a little bit excited, but then I read the comments and it reminded me how much I hate fangirls/boys of any kind, so I abandoned that. Scary...
