How about enlisting an actual
artist with creativity to do the next cover? Please come up with something cool. The last album cover, quite frankly, was embarrassing. Give Stanley Mouse a call and let's get back to basics. Thanks in advance.

I'm surprised you even replied, manpig. I thought you were too busy spraying your jizz all over that gay profile picture of yours; then trying to sell it of on craigslist.

I tried that....but the only interest I received was from your mother - who incidently has been pissed on a few too many times, and I consider damaged goods...

I love it when a thread gets completely sidetracked ... but
only if said sidetracking involves a flame war chock full of insults and personal put downs.

You guys may continue.

Wavid has not done a Journey cover.
I agree that they need to step up on the cover. Arrival (Japanese version) was the last good one. But the lowest was Generations C&P.

Are you sure? I remember him pretty proud of himself way back when, saying he was going to do the cover for Red13, or Generations....

My mother saves babies for a living. Your's gets on her best pair of panties, eyeliner and hits the streets. Go enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and a good dick back in your corner of laziness and indifference.

Hey Parfait, while I don't agree with anyone ever using the "your mother" route, you did poke him first in this one, and just FYI: his mother died just this year.
Maybe you guys could find some other way to insult each other?

I agree... the covers have been very generic. A really good one would be nice, yet I'm hoping the material inside is much better too!

Wavid and several other Back Talkers were up for the Red 13 cover. Christopher got it. Wavid has done several coverfs for Kevin Chalfant/Two Fires. He did "re-design" all the Journey covers as well as working on Ross Valory's website.

The Revelation cover sure had that uninspired bits-and-pieces vibe. The artwork looked no better than a sanitized random collage...some accidental amateur graphics edit, if you will. But then maybe, management deliberately settled with that as a calculated compromise--they resorted to corporate aesthetics--to appeal to the majority...?

The Escape cover was the best use of the Scarab beyond another repetitive, symmetric drawing of the same beetle over and over again.

After looking back through Journey album covers to make a comparison, I agree.
Most of em are rather boring. I like Dream after Dream though.

Perhaps they could improve on the juxtaposition/layering (mis)used

on Generations...and come up with a legitimate, way more pregnant, surreal/optical vignette...

I say bring back the Frontiers alien-head-thing!

That thing looked bad-ass. I think too many of the artists these days rely totally on computer graphics, when some of these earlier Journey albums were actually airbrushed art. It makes a lot of difference to me.

One of these guys also did DC's drums. They were red with silver wings. The wings were kind of futuristic chrome, but had a military insignia look to them. There were some stories at BackTalk about how DC calls him and says he likes his work, wants to put it on his drums. I think it was during the RED13 thing.

And the Bonrud CD cover, if I'm not mistaken.

Oh take a relax, Adolph. This place runs just fine without your Goddamned interference. Go back to watching Cricket matches or whatever the Hell you crazy assed fuckers do in Australia on a weekend.
These two guys are not very good at insults. Melissa was absolutely correct. When you go to the "Mother" card, you are being a complete pussy. That is uncalled for and really weak smack. To insult someone's mother, who may in fact be dead, and had nothing to do with the argument, is deplorable. I will leave saying this.....BOTH of you are in the Junior Varsity with regards to insults and bomb hurlers. You should stick to fantasizing about super models and listening to real bad music.
