100.3 The Sound

I heard a station promo while driving around L.A. this morning.
You hear the second verse of DSB live and then a voice over telling you that "that sound could only be Journey's Steve Perry who's incredible voice reveberates across stadiums all over the nation" Then it finishes up with a few seconds of the live version of AWYWI and the stations call letters.
Since it is worded in the present tense, I was wondering if that is just an over sight or are they referring to Journey music itself being used in Sporting events. I am leaning towards the latter except for their use of live recordings of Perry. I found that a litttle odd. So maybe they just didn't word it properly.
Separate Ways immediately started playing afterward.

Obviously Perry's not coming back. it's just, with three singers removed, I found it funny how they made it sound like Perry is still the Guy.

If anything, it should re-assure loons that Perry and Journey will always be considered one no matter how many changes come to pass with the band.

It goes to show that the only reason Arnel has been so successful is because his voice is almost spot on to Steve Perry. The rags to riches feel good story didn't hurt either.

That's a great station. Last week on my drive to work they played Side 1 of Frontiers. It was the best part of my day. : )

Ya they did the same thing at the World Series, announcing "The Lead Singer for The Band Journey.... Steve Perry" - I'll bet Cain and Schon were at that game, as Steve Air Jammed DSB in it's entirety.
