I am referring to Post-Perry songs not anything before he was in the band or songs that Rollie sang on.

Curious as to what everyone here thinks as the best song.

Gotta agree with Eric's choices and maybe toss in "Remember Me" as well.

These are the only 2 songs I really like from the Augeri years. I have always thought Higher Place was a shit song, but almost everyone else seems to like it. Stupid fuckers.

Signs Of Life is a great song from Arrival. Although Neal ripped off Survivor for the guitar hook and himself for the solo.

Been listening to Journey on my MP3 at work today and am totally re-captivated. What a great band...

HP
Signs of Life
To Be Alive Again
FitH (Augeri version)
Beyond the Clouds
NWA

I'll never forget firing up Arrival for the first time - it was a great return to form. That album has truly stood the test of time for me.

Does everyone like NWA because of it's similarity with BGTY or what? The worse produced song on Disc one of Revelation but probably the best song on there too.

I've heard some speak in technical terms about those songs having the exact same chord arrangement, but I find them to be very different in overall sound and vocals. But, I do agree with your assessment that the sonic is lacking.

I'm assuming he's referring to the little riff in Is This Love ... big similarity there and the riff Neal plays in SoL.

That song sounds like ass on the disc, but the big gripe is the low level of the backing vocals in the song. Kick those up and I can overlook the other production flaws, like Neal's muddy ass guitar on the intro. Similarity to BGTYS aside, I just find it to be a pretty catchy song. Love Neal's leads too.

It should, seeing as BGTY always sounded great live, too (Well, until 2009 when Arnel started falling apart at the ending for what ever reasons, maybe a song that doesn't come across well stepped down).

Ohh... you're referring to the lead in the middle of the chorus. I thought you meant the little palm-muted riff during the second half of each verse (e.g., riff starting when he sings "Losing hope, I lose myself..."). I hear Is This Love in that one. It's a pretty common motif though, especially in AOR music.
