What's the one song...

If you tell the band to keep one song OUT of the setlist this year because you're just dog tired of it, which song would it be?

Mine is "Lights." That has officially become my piss break song. It just bores me now...

Lights and LTS are just terrible songs and I have never liked either of them. Ever. Ditch them forever.

Faithfully. It sounds like garbage since they stepped it down. Another one would be BGTY, another song that's been getting butchered. It's not like anyone would miss it, seeing as they already have NWA in the setlist.

I like the new version of Open Arms. I also think Arnel sings it much better than Perry did. Different emphasis on certain notes and a much more powerful delivery. Perry seemed whiny and melancholy on the version.

I tend to agree with you on this.

Technical arrangement aside, I have to call bullshit on this one. That song was played for the first time and spread around here like wildfire, and no one mentioned that is was a ripoff song. No one. It wasn't until someone noticed that the songs had the same arrangement that everyone piped in with, "Yeah, it does sound the same!"  Not much different than Separate Ways and Message Of Love. Bands are gonna revisit the past every now and then. And that's ok. But you can't ripoff yourself.

I certainly disagree with this. I still like Out of Harm's Way and Faith in the Hearland of Gen. Revelation has some great songs: NWA, TDTWT, WIN, CFTB, WDILYL and even AATY. These are all really good songs that I can listen to over and over agian!! I think I will crank up some new Journey right now.:D :D

LTS, Open Arms, Lights. And it would hurt to conceptualize a fresh show either. ...Or not, maybe I'm the only one bored on that aspect.

I forgot the subject; Open Arms and Lights I'd never miss at a concert.

EDIT:: Wow my grammer/spelling is getting worser and worser.

I think what made it stand out though was that there was already discussion that BGTY had been revisited by the JEFF/Neal collaboration Believe In Me.
I still think they should dump BGTY and continue to open with NWA. The catalog will get stretched again with at least three songs per show from this album so if Never Walk Away and one other song gets played regularly from Revelation it should be good enough.
AND
As Neal reportedly does not care for the ROR album in general, it shouldn't be an issue with the loss of BGTY.

I like this idea. Arnel hoisted and singing over the crowd, an actual stage with a theme (Carnival Of Sins by Motley Crue was really cool!), a pre-selected fan to help sing a song or .... anything new and different! They should also play clips of the new movie as a teaser and free promotion. :)

The new movie seems to have run into trouble again. The producer is pleading with people to signup for email, probably to show distributors that there is some type of market out there for it.

Journey would do well to just buy the rights and distribute the film themselves with the new release (though it may be too late for that already).
Three years in and the movie still can't backing even after the media heyday Journey had in 2009/10, it might be time to shoot that hound.

That idea has been tossed around more than once. I think it's a great idea. It'll give Walmart (possibly) something to put on their TVs and it will also probably facilitate some repeat business as people watch it and are introduced/reintroduced to old and/or new songs, and return to buy Revelation or GH.

 :?

Whuuuut? Please tell me it's a rockumentary and not some KISS saves the day at the carnival type deal. I'm having visuals of Journey meets Robin Hood: Men In Tights. Which, while hilarious, is also scary.

Id say put more of those in there. Otherwise, you might as well not record any more albums and just stick to playing the exact same setlist for the rest of eternity. You can't play all of them or you lose the audience, but why ignore recent albums?

I'd respectfully submit the Journey/Arnel story has already been told - and quite well I might add. :D :D :D

LTS and Open Arms can go away forever as far as I am concerned. However, the casual fan at he concerts goes crazy for these two tunes. It is a tougher call than most of us here make it out to be.

Never liked it from day one. Music, lyrics or the sound of Perry's voice. Sappy!

LTS.
I guess the reason why it`s still in the setlist is because Neal can showcase his "Blues Thang".

The only time I think Arnel bested Perry was on Revelation Disc 2, Only The Young. The only drawback on that track is Cain's unimaginable keyboard sound. Arnel is brilliant on this one.
