Just browsing through FB tonight, and read Andrew's comments regarding Journey's new "City Of Hope". Andrew I hope you don't mind me posting this hear, but I am excited as hell after reading your post, and I thought others here might like it as well!
Someone posted previous to this that people on Journey's FB page had a bunch of negative comments (regarding the new album). Here was Andrew's response:
Negative comments on the band's FB page? WTF? No one even knows what it sounds like!
Full review on my site of this song tomorrow - but let me say it is fricken glorious. Rocking, melodic, soaring, bold, tough, and spine tingling. Better than ANY track on Revelation and HUGE sound. No Red 13 here. And the guitars are out if this world.
I am officially STOKED to hear this song after hearing this!!!

Me too, man. I'll be first in line for this one. Looking forward to any Youtube videos posted from the concerts in Las Vegas and Reno.

Ditto! I'd stay up to catch it, but I'll be working another 12-13 hour fucking day tomorrow.

I'll have to catch it tomorrow night (hopefully!).

Yeah, I'm still a recruiter (have been for over 10 years now), but this job has taken a turn for the worse this year. My new job is about to be upgraded to fucking serial killer if these hours don't change. It's so bad that my wife actually brought a change of clothes to my office at 8:30pm last night and said "I just missed you, and wanted to take you out to dinner".
Anyway, enough about that bullshit, let's keep this on Journey's new song.

Certainly so, but let me say thanks for your service. It's much appreciated.

And would we think Rip to say anything different?

Just found the links and heard the new songs on the front page. Boy, were they hard to listen to...no catchy melodies or hooks...just a bunch of guitar riffs. I'm a perryfan but not a Journey hater....have every album they ever did (including all pre- and post-Perry and found at least some songs I like from each, e.g., WAFTE from Red13, probably their least popular record). If these 4 or 5 new songs they debuted in Vegas is an indication of how Eclipse will sound like, I will not be buying this cd.
Jeez, I'm really bummed...as earlier in another thread, I heard/saw the YT video links of the band performing 3 old hits, and gave Arnel high marks on his singing this year. Neal says he's not concerned about radio play anymore...well, he's going to get his wish....
