No new versions it sounded like? I much prefer the 2009 versions of Separate Ways, Anyway you want it, Don't Stop Belieiving and Open Arms. In fact, I don't think I can stomach the old version of Open Arms anymore.

They played with Night Ranger and still managed to get 22 songs played. No way would they have played that many tunes with extended versions of the songs included.

And with Foreigner in the middle, it might get squeezed a tiny bit more.

Fu mentioned that they didn't talk as much and Arnel wasn't so cartoonish. Does that mean he wasn't bouncing around as much, saving his breath to go right into the next number? I think it's split on who likes fast shows and who wants the band to interact a bit more. More songs are always better in my opinion.

I don't like talking or jiving or joking between songs. One of worst shows I ever saw was Barenaked Ladies because they thought it was the improv. Wouldn't shut up.

I make fun of Open Arms being played every concert, but I fall for it every time. So does the audience, it appears.

I saw those clowns at a company party at E! Entertainment. On the positive side, they did do a great cover of Careless Whisper.

The "rap" between songs has left a lot to be desired in any post-Perry incarnation, in my opinion. Augeri in particular seemed to struggle talking to the audience... ("Just a few clicks away is a city by the bay" means what exactly?) I love when the band opens with 3-4 songs in a row with no break in between. They also tend to do that towards the end of a set as well. Always stoked when they do.

This new album seems like it's gonna blow the doors off of Revelation and that record may soon enough be swept under the rug. All it proved to me
is that AP has the chops to be in Journey, but overall, a pretty forgettable album. It's been 6 months since I've played anything from it.

A click is a measure of distance, a military term. He was just trying to say SF wasn't that far from Vegas, where that show was shot. I prefer bands not to talk between songs too much, but Augeri always had a nice rapport with the crowd IMO.

Yes and no, Don. Journey is defined by the height of their musical popularity, which is pretty much 1980-1983. Yeah, there's a little bit before and after, but they are "defined" by Escape and Frontiers. Period.

I think they should have dumped BGTY and opened with NWA. Better to ditch a song from an anti-Journey album to make room for at least one tune from your last Platinum release.

Really??? You can't figure out what he was trying to say there?

Anyway, never have a problem with a few words from band members between songs (any band). However, some artists get way to political, spiritual, etc. I have been to quite a few Santana concerts in my time, but that guy needs to shut the F up. Way to much spiritual babble and talk about not understanding half of what the dude is talking about. Jeez.....
