Count the problems in this song.

How many things can go wrong?

Neal needs something here, not sure what. Probably more IEM volume, as usual. And Deen needs a spray to lubricate his voice in one of the most unfriendly places for singers. The dry climate there plays havoc on the vocal cords. It's amazing that so many perform there daily.

Turned out beautiful though.

I would rather listen to Deen than Arnel anyday.

Nah, the crowd goes nuts for Arnel. Sure, Deen is a nice change from time to time and sings well. I enjoy
what he sings, but I doubt it would go over well full time, behind the kit. He ain't getting out front, if given
the opportunity. He's said so himself.

The crowd loves AP here:

BTW, we've got 5 new songs and what do the plokkers do? Upload Open Arms.

First concert of the year.....anyone surprised? This is a new sound guy, from what I understand. I consider the Vegas
and Reno shows practice runs. They also rolled out 5 new songs, so I expected there would be some bumps.

It so bothers me when performers let their technical frustrations get the best of them onstage. The audience, nine times out of ten, has no clue there's a problem. But when he's standing there shaking his head and yelling off into the wings, it takes the enjoyment out of it for the audience. Fix it in sound check, or blast the guy after the show. But let the grand illusion be as it may...

Is this anyone else's pet peeve?

I wonder what was wrong. The othe clip I saw on the new song, he just glanced to the side twice and mouthed something, but he wasn't yelling or anything. And he immediately moved on to his solo looking back at the audience. But on Mother Father he was, clearly, frustrated. I wonder that it was.

Yeah, it's definitely distracting. Neal is one of the worst with this, and watching someone look like they're pissing and moaning onstage takes you out of the moment. I've seen him do this every time I've seen him. As a musician, I probably catch stuff like that more than the average concert goer, but it does irritate me. :?

It looked like Neal was actually laughing around the 1:20 mark and mouthing the word "up." Remember, they have a new sound guy and some new equipment, and the guy may have needed Neal to tell him what was wrong. First show's usually gonna have some farts.

Disagree Rick, his soulful raspy tone is one of THE things I like best about his voice. Love Deen's Still They Ride too.

Ever tried to talk to someone when you couldn't hear either of your voices?
Ever tried playing a guitar solo when all you can hear is the bass drum or the high hat?

The audience might not have a clue, but if you can't hear, they soon will.
I didn't see him yelling at the guy (like "hey F'er! Fix it!"). It just looked like he was trying to communicate with him. Maybe I didn't see that he was yelling at him. He probably could've walked over to him, but I think he might've needed to be at his pedal board there.
I think I remember Neal doing that in the Vegas 2000 DVD too. He gets pretty mad, but it's part of the deal.

Glad somebody else mentioned Neal's hair. Looked like Johnny Depp's mad hatter.

The drum tech does give Deen a throat spray at 1:50.
