Noticed that too. Full sleeves? May be something he always wanted to do.
Maybe it's an image thing to make him look more the rocker type.

On a side note, his hair looks ridiculous. He needs to grow it out and straighten it again

Agreed. I think the cut looks good on him because he has great straight hair for it, and he's handsome, and it fits him. Tats never phase me on someone so they are fine IMO too.
