That's a sweet video, the crowd is electric! Arnel looks like a veteran now. 8)

Damn! They fucking loved it! Arnel has no stage presence....remember
That was great and you could tell the band really thrives on a happy audience. :D

Looks like Journey missed out not making it to South America a little earlier. So far, 2 out of 3 oversold shows. :D This certainly looks like Brazil loves Journey and they definitely know the words to all the DD and the crowds are nuts!! I'm bettin' Eclipse will do great in that neck of the woods. Cain is even tweeting about it!!

I know we are way early into this mega almost 2 year tour....but as someone who was at PH in 08 (and the handful of us who got into the Remax gig at MGM before that)..it's pretty fucking cool to see Arnel killing it every night...and the band slaying crowds everywhere they go....

But Deano said 2 years ago that there was water in the fuel tank and the engine was about to blow.

BTW, folks...and no fault of Journey, but this kind of music is coming around again.

Wow, could hardly hear Arnel over the audience! :o :) Can't wait to see more uploads from that show...

I don't think I've been to a Journey show where the audience almost overpowered the band. AMAZING! And I have to admit...Arnel sounded great. I may be a convert yet.

The crowd seemed to dislike Arnel's diction, as evidenced by their Richter Scale registering applause.

I think they're just happy Journey finally came to S.A....if Journey toured there every year the novelty would wear out relatively quick. Especially with Mr. Karaoke at the helm.

Yeah, to compare - the novelty has really worn off all of these U.S. tours. That's why they're having a hard time find any venues to play bigger than a casino or a night club and not drawing more than 1,000 people per night. Wait a second...

South America has always been a great place for rock acts to tour. Look at the pics I put in the other forum from Iron Maiden's stadium shows this last week. Lots of young fans. Queen, Kiss and a lot of legacy acts have toured there for years. Not so much for the album sales, which are not going to be great down there anyway but for the easy ability to fill huge venues and to make a killing on merchandise sales.

We saw the same singalong action at Donnington from a few years back. When it comes to the audience participation, the crowds OUTSIDE the U.S. are going to definitely be on board. Watch any concert performed there from any act; George Michael to Scorpions, the fans really get involved in the singing. Neal has to know going in that as much as he wants this new album to be huge, for these fans who have never seen Journey live, it's all about the Greatest hits.

Rock is HUGE in Brazil... remember "Rush in Rio"? The 2 shows Rush did in Brazil had the highest attendance of the entire Vapor Trails tour -- 60,000 in Sao Paulo, and 40,00 in Rio de Janeiro.

I would have loved to have seen this Journey show...

Kiss played in front of 200,000 people down there in 1983. Big, big concert market for Metal/Rock acts.

Yep, KISS once had 'Rock In Rio' doing a 180k crowd sing a long.

Great place to play down there. Btw, really good to see DC putting on his own show, a la, Tommy Aldridge.

The most amazing part of that show was the audience "singing" YYZ -- an instrumental! One of the coolest live videos I've ever seen. The audience was simply unlike any other I've seen.

Kiss From 1983. These crowds are huge! A great place to film a live DVD.
