I don't hear any trace of an accent in these clips--superb Arnel!! Love, love Human Feel--catchy with that vintage sound on Neal's guitar (to me anyway)--thanks Andrew, thanks Neal!! *Sigh* such fun...

From the live YouTube clips, I thought there was something very catchy about Human Feel. This confirms it. Both sound great.

Thanks, Andrew. I really enjoyed both. Love Neal on City of Hope. And Human Feel really sounds like it's going to be a great song. I can see why it's going to be a single.

Both clips sound very, very promising. And Human Feel -

. Wow.
This is one of the first albums in a while, Journey included, that I truly cannot wait for.

I know. I had earphones on and listening to the loop while doing some bills on the internet, and after repeated listens, the songs are really just getting better and better upon each listen.

Where's the song-by-song review, Andrew? It's been two weeks.

Checking out the samples - they don't sound much like Journey anymore. Closer to Soul Sirkus but with Arnel singing (although these songs sound weaker than the strong material on SS). I don't hear much soul or emotion here, which used to be JRNY's trademark. I neither hear it in the songs, nor the playing (Schon can play like this in his sleep). Where are the melodies that went straight for your heart, the singing that oozed emotion?
A name change would probably be the fair thing to do right now.

And you can determine that from a couple of 35 second sound samples?

I don't hear "Perry" in these tracks AT ALL. It sounds like Arnel is getting to be more his own man. Bravo. The second clip is friggin Rocking!

Thanks Andrew. Great upbeat songs. City of Hope has the Journey-esque feeling and Human Feel is just different but what a beat and what a great mix of the soaring guitars. These songs didn't connect in the live setting at first but are great in the album version, how much more the Chain of Love, Resonate and Edge of the Moment songs will be? Can't wait when this comes out.

He needs to cut 20 seconds from that time before he can make an absolute judgment as quickly as S2M.

Same here! Man, the drums on "Human Feel" are pounding! That's the way they sounded live, but it just never came across on the fan vids. LOVE IT!!!

I can't wait to hear this album now! These clips sound great! Schon SHREDS on COH! Can't wait to turn this up as loud as possible in my car when I get the CD! Human Feel may have to grow on me a bit, BUT I do like how Arnel sounds in both of these. After a couple of listens I think he sounds very similar to Tommy Shaw in Human Feel...and that's a good thing in my book!

To me, he doesn't sound like anyone but him, which is cool. Last time, the perry ghost was there. In these clips, I don't hear that at all. Sounds great and HEAVY.
Who'd have thought? Psyched.

Love COH, not liking HF.
And Ill say it again RIP, and for all you less-logical individuals - Why can a person LIKE something from a 35-second clip, yet someone else isn't allowed to dislike it from the same clip? Maybe dislike is too strong a word; perhaps have a neutral feeling towards a song.
So far I've warmed up to COL, and COH.

Throw the flag, ref!
15-yard Penalty!
I still think Human Feel sounds like Genesis from the 1980's with Neal Schon part of the band.
Also, I think both Land of Confusion and Human Feel share the same theme about compassion! When you "borrow" the melody, why not borrow the theme, too?
-Bill (Maybe after I listen to Eclipse for the 20th time, Human Feel will be my favorite.)

yeah, neither of these songs compare to "Baby I'm Leaving You" or "Lovin Touchin Squeezin".
THANK GOD.

glad to see Journey rocking but where are the big hooks, the melody, the catchy lyrics?
arnel does sound great though, fits the new sound.

I hear that too, but very very slightly. Also, COH, like Faith in the Heartland, has a U2 vibe.

There are 10 other tunes on the album.

There's plenty of that.
