There is no truth to the rumor that Ayn Rand was an influence on the songwriting....

It does, but nobody plays recent Journey except AC channels and this is just a bit too much for them. I wonder if
Journey was still with a major label if they would get played more? I don't think the band really cares whether
they get on the radio anymore. Oh....you said single, not HIT single.

yeah yeah yeah.... radio is dead for these types of bands. I know.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it as much as anyone, just to be driving down the road and hearing new music from the band
on my car radio.

This isn't the type of music that you blast from you car. Buy White Snake's new album if you want that.

Puts Eclipse to shame....
Don wrote:We saw a few years ago what the average Journey fan wanted to hear on the radio. After All these Years hit that chord perfectly for a lot of them.
There is nothing like that on this album, and another reason why I can highly recommend this release.

No it doesn't. Different moods require different music. If you want to drive around with the radio blaring and pretending you're 16 again (which I do, on occasion) Forevermore is great. If you just want to throw down some beers while listening to music, Eclipse is the ticket.
Don wrote:So, what's the reasoning behind Wal-Mart not having samples available? One conspiracy theory I can present is that they are worried that this album sounds so different than Revelation/Legacy Journey that making audio samples available may cause some people to hold back and wait to see/hear more youtube footage of the complete songs before they decide on a purchase.
WykkedSensation wrote: You may be exactly right Don. It won't appeal to every fan of the band. Indeed after nearly 30 years of following Journey i am even contemplating not even buying the thing. I am one of the fans that WANT the legacy sound. I don't want the heavier direction. They experimented a little with Red13 and Generations and fell flat on their asses, and i can see it happening again. Not impressed with the samples, and the 2 singles are not at all good. A disillusioned fan
