Eclipse WILL sell

Now that it is available at a few stores, it has made it's way to the net. A good barometer on how well an album will do on the market is how many people are looking to find it on the net. Counting up completed downloads from random sites, this thing has already been grabbed by a cumulated total of over 1,000 people. It is a WANTED item and should do well in it's first week of release.

Great to know, though it's enough lost revenue to buy a car, lol. Nothing against downloading - I do it too, but I always follow up with a buy to support the artists.

I do too. Most of the time. I'm guilty of not doing that in certain instances though. I don't like buying shit.

Not using this as morality lesson but more of a market indicator. If no one is trying to steal your product, then there must be some question concerning the quality of what you are selling or the marketing effort you have put forth to expose it to the public.

Just to play devils advocate...
Or... it could mean people are reading the reviews on MR and elsewhere... and unsure of buying based on what they read... so instead they are thinking.. "instead of buying it I'll DL it first"...

Every review out there (albeit they're mostly from Euro sites) says Eclipse is the best thing since sliced bread.

Heh, whatever gets it out there. A few people I know are pleasantly surprised. The didn't expect it to be good.

That would mean mostly the Euro's like it... ok.. so Europe is covered...
The Philippines/Japan is a given...
That just leaves North and South America...

With the exception of Brazil, Latin America gets its non-local music pretty much on the net.

Steve Price gave it a spin on ARFm today.

I didn't think Revelation would sell squat, so I am being cautiously optimistic here.

Did he comment at all on it, Fu Fu?

I just don't know. For me, I'm more negative, because of barely any promotion. Now I think it will sell, but over fifty thousand, I don't know - strictly because of no promotion. A slot on Letterman or Leno or such would have helped. Maybe it's too hard to get on. I don't know. I hope it does better. It deserves it.

Didn't he admit to this under threat of blackmail a few years back?

Played She's A Mystery without comment other than from a new Journey album and when it would be available. Might have been more though as I didn't get to listen to the whole show.

Update: And I'm downloading a Windows 7 DVD to repair a computer. I'd rather be beaten.

It's exactly the way I do. I do donwloads, but I always buy the CD when is released. I'm guessing that I'll have to wait more two months until Eclipse starts to sell in Brazil.
