Say four new songs are played in the U.S. tour, which songs do you want?

Mine are:
Edge of The Moment
Chain of Love
Anything is Possible
Resonate

I love them all.

Yep, these four

Throw in 'Ritual' and you've got 'em.

Resonate
Anything is Possible
Someone
Edge of the Moment

The biggest problem I see, regardless of whether you think this is their best album ever or a steaming pile of shit, is that a lot of these songs might not translate well live given how complex (let alone long) most of them are.

"Four." There won't be any more than four. So you have to pick four.

Well, I loved Resonate, Chain of Love and Edge of the Moment from the get-go live even on bad youtube clips. They never felt long to me. And Anything is Possible would easily work live.

Kingfish said they will be bringing their big gear with them this tour to try and make that a non-issue.

One might ask, with a three band package, how many songs will they look to play each night from Eclipse?

Resonate
Someone (I think this is closest to the classic sound, but yet fresh. Fans should love it)
Anything is possible.

I think these three are the easiest to like right off the bat. The rest take some further listening
for them to sink in.

At least, three.

If it's three, I choose Edge of the Moment, Chain of Love, Resonate. Though, I do love Anything is Possible.

Edge of the Moment
Chain of Love
Tantra (According to the guy that met Arnel recently, Arnel was apparently really excited about this song)
Resonate

I'd love to see 'em play more new songs though. 8)

Resonate, Chain of Love, and Edge of the Moment are all musts IMHO. Anything is Possible and Ritual are interchangeable as far as the fourth slot.

Agreed that Resonate, Chain of Love and Edge of the Moment are all musts. I swear, those three numbers are a trilogy.

And considering how much the band seems to love Tantra, I'm guessing that'll be the fourth slot. But we'll see.

Bingo! Unfortunately, though, I'm going to assume that City Of Hope is a given, considering that's the song they released. :?

By the end of the tour when they're playing one. Which one do you want them to play?

City Of Hope
Edge Of The Moment
Chain Of Love
Resonate
Human Feel

I especially want them to play "Edge Of The Moment" and "Chain Of Love."

I may get tarred and feathered for this, but Journey needs to play some of the songs that might resonate (pun intended) with the majority of concert goers, who've come for the dirty dozen. I think they need to rotate cuts from Eclipse, and do only one or two of the heavy ones (Chain, Edge, Resonate) and do two or three from the others such as Someone, Ritual, Anything is Possible. I think they simply must do Tantra, and or to whom it may concern, because these songs are show cases for Arnel, and he needs to become his own man. Let's face it, no matter how well he kills faithfully or open arms, those were and to some extent always will be Perry's showcase songs. Arnel needs to step out of Perry's shadow every chance he gets, and that would be good for the band too. Plus, they need to sell this album, it's business!

True...especially after seeing Kelly Hansen sing that acoustic show with Foreigner last month. That guy's great.
I think Foreigner is going to outperform Neil's band the way Styx did during the REO/Styx/Journey tour years ago.

Everything is opinion. But in my opinion, Journey put on the best show of those three bands the night that I saw them. Styx were the second best band of the night. And REO a distant third.

There's no doubt in my mind that Journey will still be the best band this time around as well. And for the record, Foreigner and Night Ranger are my 3rd and 4th favorite bands.

Matt is spot on with the length of these songs to really translate into a LIVE venue and setlist compared to others off Revelation and the classics but I'm sure they'll work out the kinks with timing. With that said, here is my 4 songs I'd love to hear live:

-City of Hope (Journey's released single so this MAY be the overall opener to the Eclipse tour.)
- Chain of Love (I'd love for this to be played after a couple ballads or maybe even Lights or Wheel in the Sky. Nice tempo change to go into newer material.)
- Anything is Possible (A nice feel good anthem that the casual Journey audience should connect to. Kind of reminds me of "Party's Over. Arnel sounds a lot like Perry here.)
-Resonate (This would be a total monster of the mid-way, alongside Chain in Love. Maybe played back to back. A true crowd grabber.)

Maybe do a couple set list changes and replace Anything is possible with such tracks as Edge of the Moment or even Someone.

You're right, Styx kicked Journey's ass on that tour in Noblesville. And I don't really like Styx.

I'd struggle with Kelly doing Lou's songs a half step down but he sounds great on their new stuff. We'll see if they're stooping or not.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised to see Night Ranger kick Journey's ass on this tour. I'm on spin three of Eclipse and I'm not impressed yet. I was impressed with Night Ranger's new cut "Growin' Up in California".

I think they should open with Separate Ways and go straight into Edge of the Moment. That would be fantastic. I love the whole beginning of Edge of the Moment. It really takes off.
