Brad Paisley was on Good Morning America today, he will be on Letterman tonight and will be on The View tomorrow. If you're name's not GAGA , you definitely need to be pushing your product and Brad seems to be doing just that.

Is it that Journey, or whoever decides the level of promotion for the record have no confidence in it?

Maybe Journey needs to fire their marketing department.

Or do they feel that the brand is so well known because of DSB that it will sell itself? Seeing how they stocked tons of Eclipse discs as compared to the other new releases it really looks like Wal-Mart is feeling very confident that this album will at the very least equal first week sales of Revelation just on Journey's name alone.

I hope that's the case.

How did you find out how much stock Eclipse has compared to others?

Def Lep managed to perform parts of 2 songs on the finale of Celeb Apprentice and to get John Rich to say they were currently on tour; I can't even imagine what the dollar value for that kind of publicity would be.

Even the interactive banner on Wal-Mart's music site doesn't want to promote Journey.

You're right, but the problem is, nobody in this band is Brad Paisley. Jonathan is the most articulate, but he's not the front man, and I doubt anyone cares as much about what he has to say since he isn't the singer or guitarist. Neal is cool, but rambles too much, and Arnel is an unknown.

I was thinking about this last night. I have every album from Jonathan and every one from Neal.
The collective resume' of this band is nothing short of stunning. These guys have their Journey personna
then I can find plenty of wine and hot tub music and I don't have to look far.

First off is that you have to be invited to play these types of shows. Then once you are invited you have to figure out why you have been invited. These late night shows are extremely geared towards a younger audience and they generally do not invite legacy artists. If they do play these shows, what song(s) do they play? The show will want the hits and nothing more. DSB and SW or one of the ballads. Look at Ellen last time out. One hit and less than 30 secs of a new song during the credits and another full hit on the web only.
I agree that playing these shows would be valuable, but they have to promote the new stuff.

Cain tweeted yesterday or the day before that they just taped at CBS Morning Show for the 30th an. of DSB to be shown soon.

Wow, has Wal-Mart pared down their music department since the last time I went. They had about 30 or more Eclipse CDS, 20 or 25 in the new releases section and ten or more in the Journey section. There was no promo for any of the new releases, Gaga, Brad, Journey. Just all were put in the New Release section together towards the end of the music row.

Every once in a while you get an older artist, but basically new artists and most are nothing impressive. Letterman had on a band debuting their first album, had never played on TV before, and it was so lackluster.

everyone should head to the Walmart site and post reviews.
You folks that hate the album need not apply.

In the official Journey site review section, Eclipse currently has a rating lower than Generations.
All hail the power of the internet.

17 votes for Generation and 26 for Journey so far and with a vote like one star by someone who said he won't listen to it.

A bit of a slowdown day for Eclipse.
Journey has been sitting behind Adele and Def Leppard on the best seller list for quite a few hours now.
RIP seems to be falling down on the job a bit, someone get him a coffee.

I swear if they could get on Leno, Letterman, or Kimmel and perform Resonate from the very beginning with that cool intro and play the whole song, not a shortened version, that album would take off.
