Just watched Neal talking about how he found Arnel again, he said he was "looking for a singer" when he saw him on youtube.com
but I thought they already had a singer they loved=JSS.
I know this has been talked about over and over, but I still miss JSS. He was awesome with Journey and he rocked the stage and sang the
hell outta those songs.

If he was the right guy for the job Pineda would not have been holding the job for the last almost 4 years.

I agree. Let it go, Soto ain't coming back and he was lucky for the time he had with them. Plus, he's doing fine for himself being a backup singer for TSO.

Correction......multi soloist for TSO. Ok, carry on......

Eclipse is dead at retail. Doesn't matter who the vocalist is or could have been.

Right, but it beats the 58.5 threads blaming promotion,
change in direction, length of songs, blah, blah, blah ...
They're just shakin' it up a bit ...yayyy!! :D

Eclipse was never about getting on the radio, but I feel there are a couple songs that could. They just released
the wrong singles....damn it! I never expected this album to burn up the charts either. There is good music
out there that does not ever chart. I'm not disappointed in the least. I love most of this album and I'm
happy to play it and I have been often. Nothing on Revelation got in my head the way this album has.

That sounds familiar.

What were your thoughts on Revelation again?

What's amazing is how, for so many who sang it's praises initially, Revelation has now become dull and forgettable.

On the flip-side, what about the guy who never liked Raised on Radio or Journey's more pussified elements but now puts it higher than Eclipse, despite singing its praises for the edgier attitude? You have no room to talk, my good sir.

True, no denial, but it didn't have the staying power for me, in comparison. I spent a couple days with Revelation which I haven't played for awhile. I
come away just Meh, in comparison to Eclipse. I feel like the recording quality is better on Eclipse too. Also Revelation feels like the singer fits less
than on Eclipse, which is understandable because Rev. was written before AP and he was just plugged in.

Yes I do. I didn't say I personally like ROR better than Eclipse but I consider it a more successful effort at being what is recorded to be, a pop album where as Eclipse while a good album isn't quite the rock record that Neal alluded to.

The only album I've flipflopped on is TBF, which I now listen to more than I ever have.

That's the difference between a singer with great pipes
and a great singer ...a great singer would've made those songs his own!!

Maybe, but imagine the lack of comfort he must have been feeling, coming from where he did, into what was a huge deal for him.
I'm sure parts of it were overwhelming and when he recorded those songs he was pretty fresh off the boat. I think he evolved
wonderfully and did make many of the songs his own in time.

W.E.T. is a perfect example. It's one of best albums I have ever heard and it never came close to charting on anything. The problem is, my generation doesn't care about how good the music is, all they care about is whether or not it has a beat they can dance to.
