With Barnes in Tow, I would expect them to do as in 2009, playing some of the smaller venues and out of the way places instead of the normal circuit. I would also expect detuned shows again, if it doesn't start happening this year. With the sound issues, Arnel is probably exerting a lot more energy than necessary. No need to fry him because of technical problems.

I would love to see Jimmy Barnes! Gotta do it. Maybe a trip to Tazmania might be in order. Seriously, watch the air fares, first time I went over there it was $999 and included 2 flights within Australia, you can find great deals if you can handle the long flight!!

You a Barnes fan? Ideal gig?

that doesn't seem to surprise me. Didn't Andrew say that Perry had a bigger hit with Oh Sherrie than anything Journey did? Seems to be a pretty strong self-contained music scene there, and Journey never touring there didn't help. It may simply be that nobody ever heard the song, much like plenty of their classics for the rest of the world.

True. Oh Sherrie was a monster song here and still gets played on the radio. Don't hear any Journey stuff, not even DSB.

That's almost unbelievable...You'd think, at the very least, that since "Oh Sherrie" was so big there that they'd have gotten into Journey also.

just curious, how does someone in NZ ever find out that Magnum existed at all? They didn't have any better success in the US either.

Easy...melodicrock.com! We're only talking a few years really, after praise on the boards for Princess Alice I took a punt and loved it instantly, ditto everything else of theirs (with only a couple of exceptions....Rockin' Chair, for instance!)

Magnum have not brought out a great album for years. My Dads band supported them in the early 90s for a tour or two

same here, or more specifically the AOR Hard Rock Hot Spot. Read Andrew's praise for Bob Catley's The Tower when it came out, was impressed and started checking out the back catalog.
