Has DSB Reached Weird Al Worthiness?

A couple of weeks ago, there was a lot of discussion about DSB getting used/played way too much. It was getting to the point you heard it everywhere. This got me thinking that some people may have actually gotten irritated by its resurgence, its popularity and... well, just tired of hearing it all the damned time - perfect fodder for Weird Al to latch onto it and take it from the quintessential 80's anthem to a tragic and parodied diddy. Stranger things have happened....
And although having one of your songs parodied by him is actually seen as a major compliment and status thing, you can bet anything from their catalog if parodied by Al would never see the light of day and they'd have their lawyers all over it.

That happend with Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" for me back in the 80s. I got SO sick of hearing that song all the time. I still think it's a good song but I don't usually enjoy hearing it all that much, either.

I know exactly what you mean. A few albums that stand out front and center from the 80's in my memory as perhaps being TOO successful and definitely overplayed were High Infidelity, Pyromania, Benetar's Crimes of Passion and YES 9021457896&$(%) LOL!
