What Are The Guys Laughing (sorta) About In This Video?

I've wondered about this for years...

On the 2001 DVD, at the beginning of AYWI, immediately following the acapella intro, Neal looks at Ross, then Jon looks at Deen who then looks at Ross and all of them have a look of both surprise and laughter on their faces. The strange thing about it is this little inside event was purposely included in the edit as was the 4 different camera angles of what I described. It's almost like the guys all had some sort of bet and since Stevie seems to be oblivious to what's going on, the bet was at his expense.

It's totally unimportant and I've never lost any sleep over it. I'm just curious if anyone else has ever caught this and/or knows the scoop about it.
Take a look and you'll see what I'm rambling on about.

I always wondered if they were just catching each others' eyes because they pulled off the intro on the fly like that. Seems like it might be a little tricky to transition from Be Good To Yourself to a song like AWYWI that starts with everyone singing right from the start. I could be way, way off though.

That's definitely plausible and less sinister than what I suggested.  Then again, I can't remember a time when AYWI wasn't begun that way. If memory serves, I don't think I've ever heard it played after a pause in the action. It's always been a situation like the way it is on the DVD that AYWI starts with a 4-count on the high-hat IMMEDIATELY following the end of the song that precedes it. Even looking at some of the shows from 81 onward, it immediately follows some other song with no pause between the two.

Don't get me wrong.... I've already accepted the fact that I/we will probably never know what was going on there and after several intense sessions with my therapist, I okay with that. :P

If you watch the end of BGTY, deen starts the count off early, and almost fucks it all up. It looks like they are laughing it off as a close one.

I think that's what it's about, nobody was paying attention when he started the count and he caught himself before the whole set fell apart. You can hear Deen start and then stop the count abruptly when he realized that he was the only one on top of things.
