I'm sitting at my computer actually working (for once) in another browser tab, tabbed over during the middle of the song and was blown away. Your mileage may vary, but I am absolutely digging Resonate. And Arnel's performance is showing lots of soul to me. I'm not getting the 'high school recital' dig on this live clip:

Great tune indeed. Unfortunately, it's one of those songs that will only appeal to a select few who appreciate it for what it is. The rest of the audience will yawn, sit down and tweet about the lame song currently being played by Journey. Had it been released as a single and actually gotten some airplay, it would have given those attending a show a chance to hear it a few times prior to going to the show.
On a different note, I watched several of the vids from that show posted by that same person and I have to say the overall quality of the sound was pretty rough. Neither Arnel nor Deen could seem to find the right key and synch up with the music. Their vocals were very hit and miss for some reason.
And lastly, what the fuck is up with Deen?! I realize he's one of those people who finds it necessary to reinvent their look and their persona each year and I had seen the pics of him a couple of months ago in the skinny jeans, gold-tipped cowboy boots and the duster overcoat (and looking strikingly like Lawrence Gowan I might add...

) but in the vids from the Newcastle show he looks like a cross between Adam Ant and Clay Aiken.... (go ahead, let that image sink in.... I'll wait

) And I know I'm not the only one who watched the vid of MF and said to myself ( or even out loud...) "God Damn, Deen's fuckin' baked!" Now, I'm not stating that as fact because I have absolutely no idea if he was or wasn't and to tell you the truth, I really couldn't care less. I'm just sayin' he looked like he was craving a package of Nutter Butter's and a nap!

And one I forgot about and came back to edit my post.
At :08 into MF,, immediately before Deen is to utter the first word of the song, he puts both of his sticks in his right hand and appears to flip off Neal with his left. I'm fairly sure that's not the case and rather is gesturing to the stage left sound engineer that his in-ear monitors sounded better as a result of whatever he did (Hey, I'm trying to stay positive here...

)
HOWEVER, to those who don't know Deen like we do, will see what I just described and DEFINITELY think he's flipping Neal off!

And as we all know Neal has been known to do things that indeed make people flip him off so maybe he was!
