EOTM - that tune just freakin rocks. PIYH is not a bad tune either though - just not even close to EOTM for my tastes.

I've never been a big fan of "The Place in Your Heart". EOtM wins by default.

The Shirley-produced TPIYH on Revelation is pure Journey and sounds like a million bucks. EOTM is more musically interesting tho.

Which did you choose?

(Shirley's revamp of TPIYH is musically and sonically superior to the Generations version, but I prefer Augeri's vocals on it.)

Gotta go with TPIYH. Both songs are melodic, but TPIYH has such a memorable chorus.

'Place in your heart' for me, by a gazillion miles. Classic hook and chorus. 'Edge of the moment' goes absolutely nowhere and does nothing for me. Why the heck do people like this song so much? It's an absolute filler if ever i heard one.

I'll go with Place in Your Heart also. A little bit darker than your typical Journey pop track, but great hook and emotional chorus. Edge of the Moment is fine musically and there is a lot I like about the song, but the chorus misses the mark for me--unlike Resonate, which has a similar type of chorus, but really pops.

Edge Of The Moment has a monstrous rock groove and its sexy! Arnel really sings the heck out of this song. It's not a romantic ballad, it is rock seduction!

If we could take the music from EOTM and the chorus of TPIYH, you'd have a fantastic classic Journey song.

I agree, Edge has a Frontiers sound to it, but I'd have to give the "edge" to TPIYH simply on better hooks and the chorus.

Augeri's version of TPIYH is better. The only thing Kevin Shirley understand about good production is how to make a record sound good. His musical ideas are far from great. I understand completely Neal Schon to have kind of fired him.

I like both songs, but Edge Of the Moment is one of my favorites post Perry Journey songs. I love this song!

Actually, judging by recent results, he's not even doing that right now. TBF was the last album I can think of that was as good sonically as the band behind it should've sounded.

Journey moved on cuz Shirley was busy with other projects. Not Shirley's fault that the band was scheduled to release an EP and Schon/Cain wanted to do a full album.

Shirley pretty much said they had to do things twice regarding the vocals because Arnel came in as a diction disaster whiched pissed off Kevin. Right then, the album's time table went to shit.
