Are very very similar.
No doubt people will piss, moan and disagree. But bands like Paramore, 30 Seconds to Mars, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Red Jumpsuit, Anberlin.....
I'm sure you will say "they all sound the same".. but that's what your Mums and Dads used to say in the 80s (and they were probably right, but who cares!)
Commercial, good guitar players, good singers, sing along choruses... good times.

Hmmm....I do not agree. That's like saying an orange and an apple are the same because they both have outer shells that you peel, a high fructose count, both grow on trees, and both use photosynthesis to grow....PWNED!

No surprise. Artists are influenced by their predecessors.

Mmmm don't quite agree, and anyways the bands you mentioned are pretty fuckin shit to be honest, who mostly have singers who CAN'T sing and players who CAN'T play, My Chemical Romance being a prime example. Absolutely dreadful live. 30 seconds to mars however could be the one of whom you mentioned who are actually ok.

My Chem singer can sing just live during concerts he is appalling, for some reason he hasnt learnt to control his breathing.
Hayley Williams from Paramore is a very good singer live.

Agreed! I am really getting into 30 Seconds To Mars. I haven't listened to very much Paramore though. I absolutely loathe My Chemical Romance.

The question should be, Will songs from these groups be listened to, or even remembered, 30 years from now?
Will the bands even be remembered?
What's up with all the number bands? I get them confused.

As did people your age in the 80s with all the hair metal bands and melodic rock bands yes? A lot get forgotten about course but some will beat the trend. Only time will tell. Nobody thought DSB would be what it is 30 years on

Actually better to compare earlier bands like Blink 182, SUM 41, etc the brought a sense of melody and fun back to music after the drugery of grunge and the faceless rock bands of the mid 90's.
