Hey Folks....Christopher from the old Journey forums here...

Hey all!

I finally got tired of sitting and wishing the old Journey Back Talk forums would return, and just gave up on it. This seems lik a good place to hang out with some other Journey fans, so I finally signed up.

For those of you that didn't know me from those forums, my name is Christopher (but Chris is fine), and I'm an artist living out of San Diego, California. I did the artwork for Journey's re-release of the Red 13 EP/CD as well as Deen's bass drum artwork for the Main Event tour, and a few other items.

I like a really wide variety of music outside Journey and other melodic rock....anything from Simon and Garfunkel, to the greatest band ever....Iron Maiden!

Anyway...enough about me....any old Back Talk folks here? If you're under a different nick here, please let me know who you are, if you would.

Here's a few of my latest pieces of artwork, if you're interested. This first one was commissioned by a Journey tribute band called "Escape"....and they're quite good. (Their Website: http://www.escapethejourneytribute.com )

The middle pic is very Escapish. If the album had a new anniversary release, it would be great as a back cover.

Good to see you!

I'm not artistic but the bext way I can describe why I like your art so much is that it is so "clean" looking. So..."sharp".

Hi Glenn....I use my website mostly as a bit of storage...but I put up a couple of pages a long time ago which I haven't updated in years, that have a lot of my early work. Some of it good...some of it not so good...it's always a learning process, you know...heh. Here's a couple of links that people have been referring to...

(Be kind please....as my webmaster skills are horrible...lol)

Most of my newer artwork goes on this website, which I am almost up to date on...

Hi Christopher. Always thought the band should've used you for the Generations cover. Almost everything on ur website was superior to what they went with.

Thank you...and I tend to agree...lol...but then again, I AM a little biased. ;) That was a bit of a tough blow and a lesson for me...all the time I put in doing everything that was asked of me, all the variations of submissions and changing things the way I was asked...and then they used the artwork they did. I definitely learned a lesson.

Yeah, because that place was a real fucking beacon of objectivity and free speech.

I was thinking the exact same thing after your second sentence!

Only the strong survive here. We got rid of the majority of fawners and stalkers. You seem decent ... even if your introduction seemed somewhat self-serving and shameless. So, on behalf of the "locals" here, welcome, asshole.

Yikes!  That's what makes you so loveable Dan... One never wonders where they stand with you!

Anyway...

Greetings Christopher! Long time no chit-chat. Have always admired your art and I'm so glad to see the passion is still strong with you. Right around the time the new album's name was announced, I thought about you and wondered if you had gotten the gig for its artwork.

Nope...but it is a similar style, isn't it? I'm fairly certain that Prairie Prince created that one...if I remember a conversation with Deen correctly. I'm not 100% certain....but I think that's right.

BTW....bonus points for loving Styx with Gowan. He brings everything to the table that DeYoung did, minus the wussiness, and he writes great stuff!
