Good stuff! Looks like Arnel has calmed down a bit while singing. That's a good thing too!

Thanks Steve!

I noticed that Chain Of Love wasn't posted and, after having watched it, I think I now know why! :? After the major gaffe on the opening line it's actually pretty well done.

I think this is Arnel's roughest start for any of the tours so far.

2008, he just powered through everything. The success of Revelation probably helped fuel him along too. Promotion abounds, the world is Journey's oyster at this point.
2009, despite being stepped down, Arnel seemed to find his spots better and a lot of pub about DSB helps keep the band high on everyone's radar. The tour ends with The Manila DVD scorching Billboard and everything is cruising along wonderfully in Journey Land.
2010, DSB is on top of the world but the band itself disappears from the scene. Perry takes the opportunity to re-establish his identity with Journey and their iconic anthem. Anticipation starts to build on how Journey will top itself with Arnel's sophomore effort. Neal promises an album with a theme so unique, he's worried others will steal the idea if he divulges it too early.
2011, with DSB fever slowing down, Journey comes out the gate with a wimper as they hit the scene after two years with barely any publicity, no promo for a new album and record sales suffer dramatically. An anticipated Wal-Mart promotional Blitz turns out to be pipe dream. With no single on the radio, Sound issues, a Billboard flop combined with a formidable touring partner in Foreigner, there seems to be an unspoken need for Pineda to step up his game every night.
And thus, you get the stumbles, the step downed shows and a tired looking lead singer who still has 50 shows ahead of him.

If there was ever a need for a second wind, The band and Arnel could really use one before the U.S. tour starts.

I'm sure I read something about Pineda having an acid reflex issue on and off through out his career.

It messes with me when I try to sing along. Like the wind pipe just closes up. I take a couple of antacids, and I'm good for the day though. Nobody should ever be subject to the punishment of hearing me sing though.

I hear the correct lyrics, but it sounded like he had an ice cube lodged in his throat when he was trying to sing them.

"Pathways in my mind that try to rule me" are not the correct lyrics. It's "Pathways in my mind that lead to nowhere." And then he says "when my desire becomes to fool me" instead of "When my desire becomes a nightmare." That beginning was a fucking mess.

Nobody is a bigger supporter of Arnel than me! But he butchered the hell out of the beginning of the song and I think Don eloquently pointed out why. This is a board to discuss stuff like that ... and that's what we do. Well, usually.

In all fairness, they have ALL messed up the lyrics at one time or another. I saw Augeri 3 times, and he missed lyrics all three times. I just watched a Perry video during the 94 tour and during GCHI he missed and ended a line with "ahhh..." as he realized his mistake. Not a big deal to me, as long as they can get back on track with the song.

I'm just saying what it sounded like. Dan posted the video to be scrutinized.

You laugh at a Gowan-fronted Styx, but yet are calling for Hugo to front Journey? WOW...you are clueless. The only person even in the same league to front Journey is Jason Kelty. And he is back in Escape.
