08:00 for those in Arizona and the rest of the Mountain Time Zone. Since they drove all night from Irvine to PHX for tonight's show, they'll be doing the CBS show via live remote from here.

He's probably wrecked from the drive over here from Irvine. It's a 7 hour drive which means they barely got here before they had to do the CBS show. Probably didn't sleep much.

OMG--just watched this segment--captivating--thanks Family Man!! The whole CBS Morning Show was superb--no talking heads, just the story; no ill-timed commercial breaks. Then when there was a commercial break, it was for Journey playing in Austin at the Erwin Center! This has been an awesome start to my Sunday!!

Thanks ever so much again...

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read if u dont want to know what was in the segment lol

Just watched the segment! Nothing new to the die hard fan, but it was very well put together by CBS! It was cool to see they had footage of Perry leading the crowd in DSB from the Giants World Series last year...different camera angle on that one. Loved the way the whole segment flowed..really told the history of the DSB and how it became a song, how it has been used, the records for downloading on ITUNES, how it really rings true for Arnel, had some songs from Revelation from concert footage which was rockin, and mentioned the new CD with City of Hope playing. Outstanding job CBS!

It did flow from the beginning to the end well....and to see Perry at the game was cool to see...I didn't think that CBS would have picked up on that one. Kudos!

:?: :?: :?: I believe this was recorded around the end of May, hence the preview clip in the other thread. The band was probably watching this from their hotel room.

I agree. I almost didn't bother watching it. I thought it would be the same ol same ol. But it was very well put together and enjoyable.

Ahhh... so it wasn't a live interview. I was under the impression CBS was doing one of those "catching up with the band out on the road" types of things.

Wasn't there supposed to be a live performance? There was that link here to the site conducting a vote on what song they should play - SW, Faithfully or OA? I guess that is for a different show? If so, what is the when and where for that one?

Well done piece this morning by CBS though. And we got an Eclipse tour commercial during the show too for the October date here in the Sacramento area.

Got to get that Escape promotion out there.

Any mention that they have a new CD out? (and it isn't half bad)

Should have did the 30th anniversary thing. More convinced now than ever. Poor management.

They're on The Today Show's Summer Concert Series on Friday morning. It's on NBC, and they should be playing every once in a while during the whole show.

This is already up on youtube for those who missed it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX-B8dh5Xps

Found this on AP's site, you can always count on them to find all the news! There's some very talented, search savvy people over there.

There's also a transcript of the segment on CBS News:

Really? You're gonna bitch about that? For starters, is it really a big deal about the shades? Many do it for a varity of reasons. Second, so they include the you tube thing for like 10 seconds.

Escape, Revelation, and Eclipse were all mentioned and/or promoted.

I don't wander over here to the Journey forum often, but had to post about this. I love CBS Sunday Morning for many, many reasons, and this was just another stellar example of why. Really good segment and made me truly appreciate Arnel even more.

He just seems like the sweetest kid....and I do not mind his singing one bit!

Yes, Arnel is still very humble and grateful. nice interview, nothing new for us hardcore fans but still the publicity is good. Eclipse will be getting a small boost now, they were running the local commercial for the concert here during the CBS segment and it had an eclipse blurb.
