Now don't be a FUCK Steve. No way he is back to the levels it would take to tour.

I don't think Augi needs the moolah... methinks he's just singing cause he likes too...

Opinion.

Steve is sounding a lot better. Very good.

He can now tour on his own without having to do so many dates. Very happy for him. He obviously still enjoys doing it!

I can agree with this. If he can take care of his voice and not burn it out again, he can probably sustain some kind of a career. It's
nice to see him at least try. I wish Steve Perry would do the same.

Posted this in another thread. Great rendition. Steve was always able to make SIL his own.

I am one of the biggest Augeri fans out there (here). But really?? We think he sounds good here? Maybe it's a poor choice of an acoustic song. Or maybe its just me.

No, it's not just you. He doesn't really sound that good.
Like you, I too always liked him. I loved the fact that he helped pick up the Journey pieces and toured the s#it out of it. I liked Arrival, although a bit busy/long, and I'm one of not many that really liked Red13 & Generations...well, at least some of the songs. Anyha~ I probably respect the man more than I like his voice. IMO, he just never had the strength & power. He sounded nasally a lot, and when it came to pushing a note, he weakened further with relying on head voice or falsetto. I think he and DC fit together well, because their voice strengths are very similar. (Which btw, is probably exactly why DC doesn't sing more now.) To shift gears for a min, I don't think that DC & AP blend very well at all. If there was some sort of hybrid of Augeri & Pineda, then Journey would really be on target.

Augeri was very, very good for Journey...at the time. I wish him well on his solo career. But honestly, his voice will probably never get back to what it once was...if it was ever truly Journey to begin with. Hard to put into words, but I've often thought that Augeri himself was more Journey, than his voice was.

Wow! I went up to a park above the dam and spent some time with my daughter and fiancee, for a day trip and BBQ. We spent some time in the car listening to Arrival, Revelation and Eclipse. We talked about this very thing and my daughter felt like SA and AP could somehow make a great team, even with his diminished vocal ability. The idea is not that far fetched. :D

I saw Steve live at the Beacon in '98 ... one of the first shows... then on the Arrival tour in '01. NEVER thought he was pitchy.

Here's "Remember Me" from SA's first concert. Guess what? It's pitchy. I've never heard an Augeri bootleg that wasn't pitchy. I think the "Stone in Love" clip features an Augeri back in fighting form. Hope it continues.

I have the early Beacon Theater show if you need an early video copy from that era.

Is it ok to admit that TNC and AR have met and hung out? Probably would have been a bigger deal 3 or 4 years ago online.

So good to have you back on this board, man. I don't know what your status is with Dean anymore, but if we could get him back, and Tim, Liam and a few others, this site would absolutely rock, once again. I miss the good old days on here. Whether Andrews nerves could handle that, is another question.
