I think it would be pretty great to bring Steve A. back out on tour with Journey. No, Arnel's not going anywhere. Steve and Arnel can help to save each other's voices and thus keep the Journey going strong for many more years. Throw Deen into the mix too and you've got an excellent vocal barrage every night. I think most fans would dig it...sure some would complain but it would provide for: Longer setlists, slightly larger draw (market it right) no de-tuning, and a great piece of Journey history. Do some TV interviews with the six of them also. Augeri could also pick up some of Jonathan's rhythm guitar parts and allow Jonathan to add some interesting key/organ parts to some of the songs.

Cool idea, but this would never happen because Neal's ego would never allow it. Even with him getting better, I doubt the band or their management have even considered extending the olive branch, and asking if he wants to come out for a song when they play PNC Bank or whichever other date[s] are close to NYC. Trust me, they did enough improv stuff during the Camden show that they could really fit another song, in this case, a special guest song, into the set if they wanted to. If St. John's understanding from another thread is accurate, all but Neal are on good terms with SA, even though they don't keep in any sort of contact with him. And, if Neal is at all bitter about the whole thing, though who knows why, he'd never let even that happen. I think the best scenario is that SA can continue to get some of these solo dates going and people can enjoy a night with him and a night with Journey.

Also while Steve's voice has come back the last thing he needs is to do 150 dates even if only singing a few songs. He can go out and do his solo shows every now and then, have fun and the crowd is eating it up.

Neat idea though Archetype and I love the setlist.

Actually, what woud be cool is if he and Perry could team up for a couple gigs.

This is a fun idea, but in reality, makes little sense. Augeri was the lead vocalist, and that job is now capably held by somebody else. I liked SA's era alot, but he really didn't leave much of an impression on the band's dynamics. He was just sort of a place holder, sadly. The only former member of significant historical importance who could come back would be Rolie. It would be nice if Augeri showed up on one of their NY dates. But I think the band has whitewashed his time with the group.

according to Journey management we all are too stupid to deal with "multiple" lead singers.
without Deen singing a few, i wont go see Journey.

Styx must have much better management, they view the fans as intelligent enough to process the thought of 2-3 singers.

They could have, but didn't, and I think Neal was ready to dump him by then anyway, and what better way to do it than continuing touring the guy to death and basically force him out because he's physically unable to do the job.

I wonder how it works for a member of a successful band if they're unable to physically do the job....Do they get unemployment/disability? Wonder how Steve's finances are. He seems like such a great guy...hope he's enjoying life now.

Understood. However, when you say it's "not all about the money," but have a guy that along the way to becoming a millionaire (or adding to that sum) participated in shows were his voice wasn't going out to the crowd, it illustrates that it is, indeed, all about the money. No, but as a paying customer I think I have a right to investigate and question why the lead singer was knowingly standing on stage, purporting to sing to me, when, in fact, he wasn't. At least not all the time. But that's over now, and he's admitted that there are some decisions he wishes could've been better. It's just a shame that others seem to want to cast all of the blame on everyone ... but him.

Well, I must have missed the announcement naming you his new spokesperson. Regardless, I think everyone is happy that Steve is back out on the road, of seemingly great health and is once again able to what he does very well.

Bahaha, thanks for the laugh Danaldo. YOU can only seem to point out the perceived wrongs any/all of Journey's past singers have done. SA seems to be the only one that most here blame for that. He is in no way the only one, but gets posted about the most for it. Gawd forbid you pull Cain or Schon out of your ass long enough to lay some blame in their backyard too...publicly, once in a while anyways.
