First the forums, now the blogs. Thank God they don't have any real influence here.

What community? If there was a forum or a common place to interact I would call it a community... but those times are gone. So everyone needs to go save those uploaded pictures, blogs, reviews and status updates you worked on and then turn off the lights on your way out.

Their Facebook page is pathetic. They basically took someone's fan page that already had two million likes and tried to pawn it off as if all these people had just hopped aboard the Journey 2.0 train. What they ended up with was something worse than the forums of old.
The page even had the classic lineup's picture there up until this year.

Now you have all these people who already have access to the comments since they liked the page years ago and they are going at it with the newer fans toe to toe every single new comment regarding every single show and every single link that is put up.
It's a freakin' joke.

They tried to take a shortcut instead of starting up a new facebook page. Two million likes MUST mean two million customers for Eclipse.

I have a whole "second life" because of that place; lots of new friends and serveral dear ones found there ... you and Mark did good for the big community and many, many individuals. Oh well, as they say, change is inevitable ... growth is optional.

Oooo I remember sort of. FB would not allow a new Journey page that the Record company had setup for Classic JRNY so FB said it needed to be shared. Azoff intervened and we got access just like the Myspace page was shared. I am so glad that is in the past.

Then somebody better go over to the FB page and do some blocking, moderating, etc. I bet with the bandwidth they save they could put some cool content [read video/music] on the site. Fact is now folks who have stuck through all the web changes are once again shut out, that is a shame, but predictable.

They aren't smart enough for that Argus... they've gone from a full blown website to a half assed website to MySpace to Facebook...

all they care about is supressing the sniping..

I remember Bon Jovi having the streaming video nights on Facebook last year. The site is a great marketing tool if used correctly.

I haven't really cared enough to keep track, but maybe they've heard enough feedback on Neil's album.

They've went and removed some of the concert reviews regarding setlist selection from the last shows. Apparently that section will still be there, you just have to tow the party line to keep your posts from being deleted.

So why now? What's different?

From what I could tell, it just like a mini, Journey-themed MySpace...personal profiles, pics, etc. What kind of trouble could it be causing them?

There were issues before with people posting blogs just slamming the band (which led to the shoutbox getting closed down) but for the last six months, nothing of that kind.
The only posts that may have caused concerns were the constant complaints about the sound form the overseas venues and the recent setlist question. If those type of posts are not tolerable, the band might as well withdraw from the internet altogether. Their facebook page is ten times worse but that primarily comes from inheriting a page that for all intents and purposes had been a classic Journey fan page before this year.

Well there is a factor that could make this phenomenon worse, we'll see.

I don't think you can leave a review unless you can login? If there is no member/community login, I don't see how you can leave a review? I must be missing something logical [logic was never my strong suit]
