That's awesome.

From the video where Arnel was quizzed on previous Journey singers and Cain's testimony that he loves Arrival, it seems like he's a big fan of Augeri's. That's great.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

Wow, that's super cool! Seems like the band still has good relations with Steve. I doubt he would have been there otherwise.

I'm sure some of them do. He's kept his mouth shut and that counts for something.

Very cool, too bad they didn't have him come out and guest on a song... Or, at least I assume they didn't.

Cool that SA's still on good terms w/ the guys. Maybe someday Cain and SA can collaborate on something.

Very, very, very cool indeed!! Over the years, there has been one word that has consistently been used when describing or discussing Stevie - "Classy". He is most definitely a class act. I had the pleasure of hanging with him on a few different occasions and I always came away with nothing but positive energy and a smile. The same can also be said for Arnel. Seeing these two guys together and knowing the mutual respect they have for one another is true class and professionalism on their parts. It's really a shame that Perry can't get his head out of his ass and realize that no matter the personal differences that exist, having been the lead singer of this iconic super-group is far bigger than the individual holding the mic. The individuals who have been talented enough to have held that position are in a class by themselves.

If Neal (or anybody) had a huge problem with Augeri, you can BET he'd not get within 100 feet of the backstage area. There's other stories of other bands out there that wouldn't let so and so backstage. I know Tommy Shaw was banned from the Styx area when he was in Damn Yankees and there are more too.

You're absolutely right. The majority of people who like and listen to their music have no clue as to the drama and the bullshit associated with SP/Journey - and I'm suspecting they probably wouldn't give a shit if they did which pretty much negates the statement I made so removing it was the right thing to do. Had you not replied with the question you did, I probably wouldn't have given it another thought and not realized the edited portion pretty much tainted the rest of my post.

Now, with your hands high over your head, waving your arms back and forth, sing with me...

To the casual fan, what's the greater sin? Steve Perry revealed to be one of the bigger assholes in rock music or having gone to a show where what you thought was live was actually being played out to you from a tape?

Someone mentioned SP's character on another site. Well, once you take off the rose colored glasses, it's easy to see that many other members of Journey have shit stains on their jeans besides Perry.

Did Augeri come out and sing at all? Would've been a cool move to see the band invite him out to sing a song with the band or at least come and sing background vocs.

Agreed that would have been pretty cool. I'm thinking a revisit of the duet he did with Cain on FTW/Anytime or anything off of Arrival.

None of us truly know what goes on behind the scenes.

I thought that was quite neat that Steve and Arnel had a picture taken together.

Have Steve sing Rollie's parts and let Arnie sing Perry's parts

Of course it was but now will come the cries of why won't Perry do something like that. And again, I say why? Why does Journey 2.0 need that moment to happen? If it didn't happen during Augeri's tenure why would it NEED to happen now?
